Ideas to improve societies and yourself:
I am breaking up the topics to allow for deeper dives into each idea.
1. Stop labeling people. Everyone is a unique individual and should be treated as such. Adding labels just exacerbates tribalism.
If it were to die it would be a tragedy as it was the improved evolution of the base game. They just needed to tweak a few things. The menu structure and initial hero builder were initial failures and then meta management etc. Possibly another failed experience that could have been revolutionary
@rwj_ryuu @PlayOverwatch By posting in their posts like this or “@“ them. Also post on their posts community forums. Unfortunately we might be in the minority. Most of those not actively engaged probably don’t really understand what they are missing out on.
@bryan_johnson Yes you have taken it too far but for good reason..for science. You must go on for hopefully the betterment of all. While you’re at it maybe you can expand beyond you and Kate to possibly discover broader or universal health truths
Education. It’s the foundation of knowledge and the system is broken. Generally speaking the current system doesn’t harbor creativity and curiosity and open mindedness. The measures and motivations in the system are out of date and misleading. Focus on profits and funding at institutional level is ridiculous. You can argue that a lack of education is the root of almost all problems in the world.
@elonmusk is the greatest capital allocator of our time and as such should be making decisions for the largest share of capital. Maybe take some time to investigate the facts and the visions before making off the cuff absurd remarks about how he shouldn’t have access to all that capital while so many struggle. It’s a ridiculous and false narrative
The reason it’s not fun is because they didn’t understand how to build but the hero builder makes it easy to default and be competitive. Not being able to counter pick does sometimes create matchup nightmares but I think they could implement switching especially with hero builder. Check it out if you haven’t tried it
Yes it was launched without the optimized hero builder now in place that makes it super easy to just jump in and auto pick builds that are effective. The learning curve allowed for those that wanted to really experiment tons of tweaking. So in theory it now caters to both categories of casual and hardcore. Of course with more variety comes balancing challenges but AI should be able to make that much easier for devs going forward
It does require more arguably than base game but that’s the appeal. Technically they wouldn’t really need to add new heroes as often if they used stadium tweaks on the huge roster it provides much more replayability than the base game which gets stale much faster due to lack of variety
@157Smx@PlayOverwatch They don’t overlap them because all the people who are plat and above on console would be de ranked vs pc players and loss aversion is one of the biggest negatives therefore they don’t want to try it
@Rizzi208@PlayOverwatch It was too much for the typical Overwatch player at first perhaps but with the improved hero builder it’s much more palatable to come in as a newbie and enjoy the variety that stadium adds to the game. It’s the superior evolution of base game
@OzugurluSerkan @PlayOverwatch Everyone should have been playing stadium it’s the proper evolution of Overwatch. The implementation was shaky but the core of what the game mode could be is superior to main traditional Overwatch
@aaronkellerOW don’t let stadium die. It’s the only mode I play in Overwatch as a long time player. All of the reasons it’s not more popular are listed below and can be fixed. Stadium is the evolution of Overwatch and what the base game should migrate to.
Best of 5 and 7 do take too much time if you want quick matches. Competitive should be best of 5 rounds and quick play should be 3 rounds.
Hero builder should have been there at launch as many people’s first experience was rough due to overwhelming task of figuring out builds but that got solved and those that never came back haven’t seen it.
All new heroes should have come in with stadium at same time as standard game.
Matchmaking and balancing are never ending challenges but could and should be better. The meta did get stale.
Customizing and personalized game play of your favorite heroes is the best update ever. I am confident I could convince a majority of the player base through first hand experience that stadium is the best game mode for perhaps all except the most hard core competitive.
It’s a marketing fail but if it does die at the very least we need to see more customization in the main game. Talents is the window to expand on in that scenario
