Dear Sir,

Under Article 81 of the Constitution of India, the allocation of seats in the House of the People has remained frozen based on the 1971 Census. This constitutional freeze is set to end after the first Census conducted post-2026.

Once the freeze is lifted, reapportionment becomes inevitable. Every South Indian state - without exception - stands to lose relative representation compared to the northern states. That is precisely the concern we have consistently raised, and the very imbalance the NDA sought to address through the Delimitation Bill and a proportionate increase in parliamentary seats for all states.

Surely, a distinguished legal mind such as yours is fully aware of this constitutional position. Which raises an important question: why did the Congress party oppose the Delimitation Bill in Parliament? Was it political posturing at the cost of South India’s long-term interests?

The Congress party must answer the simple questions: under Article 81, as it currently stands, what happens after the 2026 Census? Does the South not lose relative representation vis-à-vis the North? If that is indeed the case, why oppose a constitutional mechanism intended to prevent precisely that outcome?

In defense of Indian 🇮🇳 democracy!

During Prime Minister Narendra Modi most successful visit to Norway a minor incident happened. A Norwegian journalist demanded that the prime minister starts holding press conferences. She claimed that Indian democracy is in bad shape.

May be its time to pause? May be its time to be a bit curious to the world’s largest democracy?

Two weeks ago five Indian states and territories held elections. The turn out in the battlefield state of West Bengal was 94%. In the last local election in Norway it was 62%, in many European local elections turn out is below 50%. Can voting in massive numbers be a signal Indians trust their democratic process?

In the same election BJP won big in Assam and West Bengal. It lost even bigger in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Can this diversity be a signal that Indian democracy is reflecting the will of the people?

The journalist referred to a democracy ranking putting India at 157 in the world, behind many dictatorships and deeply troubled states. When a ranking is so obviously contrary to common sense, why not ask critical questions to those making the ranking rather than demand that leaders shall comment on nonsense? I recommend Salvatore Babones book “Dharma democracy”. The book debunks convincingly the flawed methodology of these rankings.

It was referred to a ranking claiming it’s very dangerous to be a journalist in India. Reality is that it is more dangerous to be journalist in the US and far more dangerous in the vast majority of other nations in the world.

Let’s be real. India is not perfect. Of course there are incidents. India has a population the size of North America, South America and Europe combined. But India is much more peaceful than Europe or the Americas. That’s remarkable - given the ethnic, language and religious diversity of India and the many development challenges.

Unless we consider democracy a form of government only suited for some very small, peaceful and homogeneous Western European nations, may be we should commend Indian democracy?

India is the only major former UK colony which became and has remained a democracy. Its sometimes claimed that the Brits taught India democracy. If that was the case why isn’t Myanmar or Pakistan or the Gulf kingdoms democracies??? Reality is that Indian democracy is both homegrown and extraordinary successful.

In the widely circulated 2023 remarks, he called Soros “old, rich, opinionated” and “dangerous,” arguing that such figures try to shape narratives rather than accept democratic outcomes.

Dr. Jaishankar did not answer with outrage; he framed the issue as a larger debate about who gets to define democracy and legitimacy in a changing global order. That allowed him to turn a personal provocation into a defense of India’s electoral mandate and strategic autonomy.

His line worked because it was both sharp and disciplined. Instead of escalating the confrontation, he used language that signaled confidence while keeping the focus on India’s position, not Soros’s publicity.

The response landed well with audiences who see India pushing back more assertively against Western commentary on domestic politics. It also fit Jaishankar’s broader diplomatic image: composed, technically precise, and willing to challenge double standards without sounding defensive.

That is why many commentators describe his approach as a “masterclass” in modern diplomacy. It blends message control, strategic ambiguity, and national assertiveness rather than relying on rhetorical volume.

The Soros exchange was never just about one billionaire. It was about India rejecting the idea that external opinion can sit in judgment over its democracy or policy choices. Dr. Jaishankar’s core message was that India will answer criticism, but on its own terms.

India needs to build an opensource, end to end encrypted, AI and quantum safe, messaging app.

In India, unfortunately due to politics, more than half the country won't trust any closed software by any party - govt or private. So opensource is key.

The current strategy of trying to promote one or the other private player (especially when they keep posting pro-govt) is not going to work.

Instead of giving away India's data to US and other companies, at the least India can ensure its citizens get truly encrypted communications that can't be eves dropped and their apps used for anti-India operations.

Doing this is not a big deal if @GoI_MeitY wishes. There are already good opensource projects that can be taken and customized for India.

Udayanidhi Stalin is a man born with a silver spoon. Everything was handed to him on a platter. His film career. His political career. His Deputy CM post. His Chepauk seat. And now, the Leader of the Opposition post. He’s never had to struggle for anything. So don’t expect him to do his research before making statements.

When he said “Sanatana Dharma must be eradicated,” he thought he had gone viral. No one seriously pulled him up for the outrageous remark. Not even the Supreme Court. So he repeats the same line inside the Assembly, albeit with a minor modification. This time, he says, “Sanatana Dharma that divides must be eradicated.”

He could easily have said, “The caste system that divides must be eradicated.” Instead, he once again chose Sanatana Dharma as his punching bag to grab headlines and go viral. He made the statement from inside the Tamil Nadu Assembly knowing fully well that legislative privilege under Article 194 protects him from legal consequences.

Udayanidhi will continue to be Udayanidhi. His half-informed statements should not be taken too seriously because, like many of his Dravidian comrades, he has never bothered to truly understand what Sanatana Dharma actually is.

He doesn't know that it is not a religion. Not an orthodox tradition. Not the Manu Smriti. It is the DNA of all spiritual experience, the most inclusive school of thought known to mankind. Monotheism, polytheism and atheism all find legitimate homes within it. Doubt and dissent are not just tolerated in Sanatana. They are honoured as instruments of inquiry.

Which is precisely why followers of Sanatana Dharma will not burn effigies or manufacture outrage every time someone like Udayanidhi makes a thoughtless remark dressed up as political philosophy. The tradition is too old and too deep to be rattled by a sound bite.

The caste system carries real and serious demerits. Every genuine Sanatani abhors caste discrimination. The Constitution of India has already built systemic corrections to address this social evil. But caste is a historical distortion grafted onto Sanatana Dharma, not its essence.

Just because air can carry a virus, would you mock the very air that keeps you alive? Only an ignoramus would make that argument.

Udayanidhi is fairly smart. He holds a position of real responsibility. If he continues weaponising an untruth he is fully capable of investigating, it is not ignorance driving him. It is agenda. Dravidian agenda.

Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu, a spiritual leader and an ISKCON monk, continues to languish behind bars in Bangladesh while the world watches.

When even his lawyers are intimidated, threatened and silenced in court corridors, what justice are we even talking about?
Is advocating for the rights of the Minority Hindu community a crime? When a saffron-clad soul is treated like a criminal for raising his voice, the world CANNOT remain silent.

I appeal to the Government of Bangladesh to give medical aid and, more importantly, access to fair justice to Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu immediately. May he be granted bail at the earliest.

And to all the pseudo-secularists and Selective Human rights Activists around the World who flood timelines overnight, wave watermelons and trend hashtags on cue, your silence can be still heard. Apparently, your humanity has a filter.
