@LtKhalifa Th dude doesn't understand the strategic location of somaliland. Isreal has bared turkey from accessing the closest ports to Bab el-Mandeb. Isreal is part and parcel of the Western nations and its far from isolation.
@VoiceofHorn Somaliland doesn't need operational recognition but a full fledged recognition from Western nations and Ethiopia. Somaliland had been a buffer zone for Ethiopia that curtailed it insecurity from the long borders between the two. Somaliland is also strategically located.
@addisstandard Ethiopia had that chance if Abiy had the balls to sign the MOU but failed due to some Arab and Turkish financial influences. But that this moment the reality underground has changed and somaliland is recognised by the most influential nation of the world.
@Raed_zh07@grok Why don't you use your common sense instead of asking Grok? Saudi Arabia and most of Arab countries have couvert relationships with isreal and publicly show empty hostility to isreal. Are you denying it? Such behaviour is Minafiq characters.
@addisstandard President Hassan is right about that pan-Somalism is a dreaming in makings and the 3 territoires that ain't in clusure remains missing parts of that dream. Somaliland sees that dream a nightmare that will lead endless wars in the region and that's why they restored their independ
So I visited an Austro-Hungarian castle in Italy showing a map of the Horn of Africa from centuries ago. And of course Somalia did not include Somaliland then, just as it doesn’t include it now.
@khaledmahmoued1 Egypt can't dictate to anyone.
Egypt was galvanising neighbours to avert Ethiopia from the Red Sea access and if they also try to bar isreal then it's Egypt's demise. You can't fight in two fronts.
@Osman_estate Silly hypotheses!
Who offered 90% of its blue economy to a foreign power in order to get protection to stay illegally on the throne? That's Hassan Sheekh of somalia. Somaliland has every right to make bilateral agreements 🤝 like the civilised world.
@Jigjigamedia Idiot. Muuse isn't mal power mongering like Ciro. He conducted the best elections and handed them over peacefully to Irro. Irro brought more shame on the country and blocked future recognitions from the Muslim world. Irro team blame muuse for the latter incapacity and failure.
I agree with the leader of #somaliland
Given how so many countries turned a blind eye to Somalia's war of criminal aggression and extermination against #somaliland, why would Hargeisa care about what a bunch of countries that support Somalia have to say?
I understand and appreciate how delicate the geopolitics are, but also recognize that Somaliland has to forge its own independent path within the confines of an international system that has repeatedly failed them
The people who judge Somaliland so harshly for forging ties with Jerusalem should ask themselves: do you support the recognition of Somaliland? If not, why?
@FowziHerzi You forgot one thing. Turkey isn't the alpha of this world but rather omega whose influences are limited. It's the USA who dictates to Turkey and Egypt. For that reason, your fear is baseless, my friend
Good luck to Ambassador Hagi. Strong bilateral relations between Israel and Somaliland could encourage the UAE, Ethiopia and others to follow suit, and eventually position the United States to align with this evolving diplomatic trajectory.

@umutcagrisariii You put turkey in bigger shoes. It's the USA that moves tides in the world and turkey is one of those little agents who does things on behalf of America. Turkey has no ward to say about the USA plans.
@addisstandard The MOU, signed by Ethiopia and somaliland, was the best offer for Ethiopia, but unfortunately, Abiy had preferred to exchange Qadar and Turkey's financial offers. The way forward is strictly commercial access deal with somaliland. When it comes to recognition Abiy has no balls
@thebhlub Shame on you, for those trying to get excuse with the comma in the sentence. Look at the bigger picture, it's the federal government of somalia and its sub member states who visited there. How on earth is somaliland part of the visitors? Unless it's part and parcel of somalia.
Shameful event.
The president of somalia and opposition leaders were locked in a room and told that they won't be allowed outside as long as they don't get a solution to the deadlock of the way forward to somalia.
US Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has renewed his calls for the Trump administration to recognize Somaliland as an independent and sovereign state.
“Somaliland stands with our allies, including Taiwan and Israel, and aligns with US interests in a region where China is aggressively expanding,” Cruz said. “Most recently, Israel’s decision to formally recognize #Somaliland in December 2025 underscores its growing strategic relevance.”
