I grew up hearing and learning racist, sexist, and homophobic things.
In my early adolescence I thought for myself and unlearned it too.
It is 2019, there is no fucking excuse to be racist, sexist, or homophobic.
You were raised that way? Unlearn it. It's not rocket science.
I have to give credit to the RSS where it's due.
The political left often expects people to arrive perfectly- after reading Marx, Ambedkar, Lenin, or Fanon (I've still not read Fanon). Whereas the RSS is meeting fifteen-year-olds where they already are and building community around them. If we think fascism will be defeated by having better arguments or quoting more theory, we will be waiting a very long time.
People are organised through relationships before they are organised through theory. The fight against fascism is also a fight over who offers meaning, belonging, care and political education. The RSS clearly understands that. The question is, when will we?
THANK YOU JUNAID ❤️
Dipke didn't. Sourav didn't. Ranka didn't. Wangchuk didn't. Gitanjali didn't.
No one thanked Junaid.
The same Junaid who was feeding thousands at Jantar Mantar every single day selflessly.
Nobody condemned his family being harassed in UP.
He wasn't even invited on the stage.
Why? Because he is a MUSLIM!
Thank you Junaid bhai, the youth of this country salutes you 🙏🫡
Cockroach Janta Party withdraws its nationwide agitation with immediate effect
All demands of the Cockroach Janta Party have been accepted by the government:
1. Maximum possible compensation for families of NEET paper leak-related suicides
2. All FIRs by Central govt and NDA-ruled states will be withdrawn, and no action will be taken against anyone involved in these protests in the future.
3. CJP’s 5-point exam reform charter will be considered by the govt and the CJP will meet with the govt to discuss these reforms further.
Although Pradhan resigned, his resignation letter shows zero remorse and zero accountability and The government is acting like they are the victims; ministers are queuing up on social media to praise him with long essays, treating him like a martyr rather than a corrupt loser.
“There must also be accountability for the violence that took place on the 20th. The Commissioner of Police and the Home Minister must also be held accountable. There can be no compromise or adjustment on this issue.”
@neha_aisa, AISA President
Hello @GitanjaliAngmo, do you and @Wangchuk66 own this movement that you feel that you can dictate how this movement should go forward? There were many other students who were also fasting at the same time, do you hear them talking in the same tone, as if they own the movement?
And what does it mean by don't politicise? Are political parties of this country not part of the democratic space of this country? @Wangchuk66 is quite happy to deal with BJP and their leaders, and break his fast in their presence. So, then which political parties are you talking about which shouldn't 'politicise'? Are you saying that the opposition parties should not participate in this moment?
And since when are ideologies not important? Did Gandhi not have an ideology? Did Nehru not have an ideology? Did Bhagat Singh not have an ideology? When BJP and its supporters are declaring the students who are protesting to be anti-national, is that not the output of an ideology? Are the textbooks that are being changed across the state not an output of an ideology? Are the RSS people who are being placed in every university and dictating how the universities should run not the output of an ideology? If you're saying that you care for the students, then you should also know that what the students are going through today is because of an ideology that has taken over the country.
In fact, the most central aspect of what is happening in India today, is a fight of ideologies.
She & her union have been there since beginning lending support to CJP protest , mobilized students , they actively went on hunger strike. Meanwhile , Dipke & CJP gang never even acknowledged the support of Left students, neither shared the space to lead the protest as well
