"A reign of terror grips Uganda," led by Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the country’s belligerent and erratic military chief, who wants to be the next president after his father, Yoweri Museveni, the octogenarian autocrat who has ruled Uganda for four decades. https://t.co/T1uO2mcAeK
My brother @adoniaayebare, apart from the need to discuss this matter more seriously to determine where we stand as a country, there’s no need to parrot @marcorubio. We all have our reservations about these organizations. At one time I thought the arrest warrants by the ICC against the LRA leaders were undermining peace talks.
But above all, the timing of this statement kills Ambassador @Olara_Otunnu’s campaign for UN SG. He believes in international law and the role of international organizations to defend the weak against the strong. It cannot be the country promoting his candidacy to start publicly denouncing an international organization to which Uganda belongs voluntarily (unlike the US).
Now when Olara Otunnu’s campaign dies, your fingerprints will be all over the murder weapon! Like you have always told me when I post something which is in the kitchen but not ready to be served: We need to talk!
