The school closure argument is complete BS. There are approximately 2600 degree granting (4-year type) colleges and/or universities in the USA. If you take 500,000 Chinese students and divide it by the 2600 you get 192 students per school. Who believes that an enrollment drop of 192 on average will force a college or university to declare bankruptcy and close down.

Not to mention that at least some of those 192 spots could be filled by USA citizens or at a minimum by students from other countries that present less of a danger to us in both the present and future.

The fact that President Trump has to make this ridiculous economic argument and simultaneously admit that the real reason is that we can’t afford to insult China is the best argument for decoupling our economies as quickly as possible.

America has been, and continues to be, screwed by globalist business interests.

This proposed bill, if passed into law, would definitely incentivize more illegal immigration since the primary interest of every illegal immigrant is to convert their illegal status into a legal status.

Anyone considering illegally entering the USA will be incentivized because this legislation, if it ever became law, would give them the realistic expectation that they too can eventually attain legal status in the USA.

If this proposal ever becomes law the left , as soon as they control the federal government again, will use it as a stepping stone to convert these newly legalized workers into full fledged citizens. Rather than an obstacle, this proposed bill would actually hand the left a shortcut to what they really want.

In the end, you either believe that illegal immigration should never be rewarded AND the only acceptable course of action is the deportation of everyone who is in the country illegally or you are not actually a republican.

My statement re Prohibiting the Latin Patriarch of entering Church of Holy Sepulcher on Palm Sunday:
While all Holy sites in the Old City are closed due to safety concerns for mass gatherings including the Western Wall, Church of the Holy Sepulcher and Al Aqsa Mosque, the action today by the Israel Nat'l Police to deny Latin Patriarch Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa and 3 other priests from entering the Church to offer a blessing on Palm Sunday is an unfortunate overreach already having major repercussions around the world.  Home Front Command Guidelines restrict any gatherings to 50 people or less.  The 4 representatives of the Catholic Church were well below that restriction.  Statements from the Gov't of Israel indicate the action to prohibit Cardinal Pizzaballa entry to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher were for safety reasons, but churches, synagogues, and mosques throughout Jerusalem have met with the restrictions of 50 or less.  For the Patriarch to be barred from entry to the Church on Palm Sunday for a private ceremony is difficult to understand or justify. Israel has indicated it will work with the Patriarch to accommodate a safe means of carrying out Holy Week activities.
