卒論の内容を論文化したものが、指導教員@fjwrsinitchy との共著として@JournalofAnat に出版されました！
鳥類の胸部に見られる骨、烏口骨の強度が、羽ばたき運動の有無や多様性を反映していることを突き止めた論文です。議論部分では、いわゆる”羽毛恐竜”の羽ばたき能力にも言及しています。

A new paper coauthored by Takumi Akeda and me is now out!
We show that the orientation of the pectoralis muscle in birds varies with flight style, suggesting a close link between pectoral girdle morphology and locomotor function.

Yesterday I learned that some Cecidomyiids exhibit larviform females. At first I saw the wriggling orange thing on its own under a rotting plank. When I went back, a male found her in the meantime and gave me some clarity on what I was looking at.
