Why $ZKTRACE is a big deal — and why $AZTEC is starting to look like a laggard in the privacy race.

Most privacy projects come short for the same reasons:

• Transfer-only (Zcash, Monero, Tornado Cash) with no real DeFi

• Overlays on public chains that still leak via RPCs, timing, deposits, and MEV

• Poor UX + trusted setups + regulatory heat
$AZTEC spent years building a hybrid L2 with Noir. It’s functional but still an overlay that settles to a public chain, uses non-EVM tooling, and hasn’t delivered broad private DeFi adoption.
$ZKTRACE is taking a different path:

• Live private RPC tools today (no IP/wallet logging across ETH, Base, Arb, BNB, Solana)

• ZeroChain — a native EVM L1 (testnet live) where privacy is the chain: no public history, sealed events, unlinkable Shield payments

• ZeroDex for private swaps and liquidity that don’t leave a trail

Native private EVM + practical metadata protection is the missing piece. Privacy coins couldn’t do DeFi. L2 overlays still inherit public-chain leaks. A private-by-default chain with familiar tooling can actually support real usage.

Early stage, but the architecture is cleaner than the last generation of attempts. $AZTEC proved demand. $ZKTRACE is aiming higher.
