The question was straightforward: which primary and secondary schools did President Bola Tinubu attend?

If a presidential spokesman, political defender or senior ally cannot answer such a basic biographical question about the man he spends his time defending, then Nigerians are entitled to laugh.

Not because school history alone determines competence, but because transparency matters.

Tinubu has occupied public life for decades. He has been governor, senator, party leader and now President. Yet questions around parts of his personal history continue to generate controversy, and instead of providing simple, verifiable answers, his defenders often become defensive.

That is where Bwala made things worse.

A “baseless question” is one with no relevance or foundation.

Asking about the educational history of a sitting President is neither.

If the answer exists, give it.

Name the primary school.

Name the secondary school.

Provide the dates.

End the argument.

But when a simple question produces irritation instead of information, suspicion naturally grows.

APC cannot spend years demanding credentials, records and accountability from opponents, then suddenly decide biography is irrelevant when the spotlight turns toward Tinubu.

And Bwala should know better.

If you are going to defend a President this aggressively, at least know the basic chapters of his story.

Otherwise, you are not defending him.

You are advertising the unanswered questions.

If Peter Obi truly said, “Nobody knows the qualifications required to be Nigerian President,” then that statement deserves serious scrutiny.

Because Nigeria’s Constitution is not silent on who is qualified to contest for President.

There are clearly stated constitutional requirements covering citizenship, age, political-party sponsorship and educational qualification.

So the real question is not whether “nobody knows.”

The real question is: does a man seeking to lead Nigeria understand the constitutional framework governing the very office he wants to occupy?

This is where leadership must go beyond popularity, emotional appeal and social-media enthusiasm.

A presidential candidate should understand the Constitution.

He should understand the powers of the office.

He should understand the limits of the office.

He should understand the qualifications for seeking that office.

Nigeria is too complicated to be governed by vibes.

The presidency is not an experiment.

It is an institution governed by law.

Peter Obi’s supporters may defend the statement as context, humour or rhetoric, and that context should be considered. But if the statement is being presented literally, then Nigerians are entitled to ask uncomfortable questions.

Before anyone asks for the keys to Aso Rock, Nigerians should first ask:

Does he understand the constitutional door he is trying to enter?

2027 should be about competence, preparation, constitutional literacy and capacity.

Not just popularity.

Do not be afraid of the mob. The loudest voices are not always the wisest, and they will not live with the consequences the way ordinary Nigerians will. Leadership sometimes means disappointing your own supporters for the larger good.

Withdraw from the 2027 race. Join forces with those who actually have the structure to match the ruling party’s machinery. Let us save Nigeria together, not as parallel movements that cancel each other out, but as one serious challenge that can actually remove Tinubu.

Reality over emotions.
Arithmetic over sentiment.
Nigeria over personal ambition.

AN OPEN LETTER TO MR. PETER OBI

Dear H.E. Mr. Peter Obi

I have decided to make this invitation publicly, not to put you under pressure, but because I genuinely do not know if the previous invitations we sent ever reached you.

We have written to you on more than one occasion requesting an interview on KaaTruths Podcast.

The most recent letter was delivered through Mama P on the day you and I both spoke at The David and Goliath Conference, organised by Rev. Father Oluoma.

Whether that letter eventually got to you, I honestly cannot say.

So today, I am trying another route.

Sir, I would like to invite you to KaaTruths for a conversation.

I say this as someone who personally believes that, among the political choices currently before Nigeria, your presidency offers what I consider the most compelling possibility for the country.

But that belief does not mean I have no questions.

In fact, it is precisely because I take your candidacy seriously that I believe some questions must be asked.

I have watched many of your interviews across different platforms, and with the greatest respect to my colleagues in the media, I have noticed something: we seem to keep asking you the same questions.

The platforms change.
The interviewers change.
But many of the questions remain the same.

There are deeper questions I believe Nigerians deserve to hear you answer.

Questions about your ideas.

Questions about your record.

Questions about your plans.

Questions about some of the criticisms against you.

Questions about the political realities of actually governing Nigeria.

And perhaps most importantly, questions that millions of Nigerians who have already decided that you are their preferred choice may never think to ask but should hear answered before entrusting anyone with the presidency of this country.

I don’t want to interview you merely to hear again why you believe Nigeria must move from consumption to production. Nigerians already know that.

I want to have the conversation that goes beyond the talking points.

A respectful conversation, certainly.

But also an intelligent, rigorous and unfiltered one.

If we truly believe that you represent a different kind of politics, then I believe you should also be subjected to a different kind of conversation, one that gives Nigerians the opportunity to examine not merely the popularity of Peter Obi, but the ideas, character, competence and preparedness of the man asking them to entrust him with their country.

KaaTruths has grown into one of the most talked-about podcast platforms in Nigeria today. Our conversations dominate social media discussions and have increasingly become materials for analysis and debate even on television.
