Male 9 years. Chase is a 9yr old neutered collie. He came into our care as his owners felt they no longer had the time to give him. He has lived in a rural area and would possibly benefit from the same again. He is a friendly boy but would be better suited to a quiet home without young children. Chase is housetrained, is ok being left alone for a few hours, loves to play ball, has lived with a cats and travels well.
He prefers his own space away from other dogs so would need to be an only dog. We're the best of friends looking for a special forever home together, where we can continue enjoying life side by side.
I'm Popcorn, a 6-year-old French Bulldog who loves nothing more than a cuddle and stretching out in a sunny spot. I do have some allergies, so my new family will need to help me stay happy and comfortable.
Then there's Karl, my 14-year-old Chihuahua x Pug best friend. He absolutely adores treats and a comfy sofa to snuggle up on. We're looking to be the only pets in our new home, but we promise to be the only companions you need! 🐾
We could live with children over 14+ years who understand that some dogs need plenty of space and gentle interactions. We can be left to our own company for up to 4 hours, and we'd love a secure garden where we can sniff and relax.

So, here we are again with another difficult post — difficult to write and, for many, difficult to read. I make no apologies, because this is something people need to understand.
The dog world has lost its way, and the situation is worsening, not improving. More and more dogs are being abandoned at every stage of life — from puppies to end‑of‑life. Neutering is neglected, essential medical treatment is ignored, and basic training, socialisation, and understanding are all too often dismissed. The list goes on.
Far too many people feel entitled. They believe they have an automatic right to own a dog, to breed puppies with little thought for responsible rehoming as long as money changes hands. They believe they have the right to keep a dog regardless of whether their circumstances, accommodation, finances, or breed choice are appropriate. And when it inevitably goes wrong, they abandon, neglect, or give up their dogs — expecting rescues to pick up the pieces.
And we do, whenever we possibly can. But the reality is brutal: the costs are overwhelming, suitable homes are increasingly scarce, and the numbers are rising relentlessly. Rescues are closing due to lack of funding, burnout, and ill health. Meanwhile, new “pop‑up rescues” appear with little experience, offering minimal assessment and support.
We can rehome the fluffy doodle‑types, the tiny Chihuahuas, the sweet Shih Tzus, and the small spaniels many times over. But our limited kennel spaces — which have been full for months — are occupied by dogs who need time, commitment, and that special kind of adopter willing to take on the real work once they leave kennels.
There are always a few extraordinary people who go above and beyond for true rescue dogs, and we will continue to fight for the “no hopers” — the dogs at highest risk simply because they are not easy or popular.
Right now, we have several long‑term dogs who desperately need a chance. They have been posted many times, yet suitable offers remain few or nonexistent:
SHANE has been in boarding kennels for well over a year. We have covered his food, wormer, flea and tick treatment, and neutering, and the kennels have kindly kept him all this time. But every visit breaks our hearts. With no kennel spaces available, Shane still has no offers.
SKYE has been in foster for months. Recently, her fosterers could no longer keep her, and although we received a kind temporary offer, it only lasts until 6th September. After that, she has nowhere to go, and the constant moves are starting to affect her.
MOSS and CEDAR, brothers, have lived their entire 2.5 years in kennels. They need a very special home — together or apart — and both deserve a real chance at life beyond kennel walls.
WAFFLE and SHADOW, a young Dachshund‑mix brother and sister, were dumped locally by their breeder and have been in kennels ever since. They were only babies, and the lack of normality is taking its toll. Both are initially nervous and need individual homes to help them build confidence.

The new red list has already come out at Stanislaus Animal Services Agency in Modesto, CA! 😳

These 27 dogs are all set to be 💉on Wednesday 9/2 at 6:30 a.m. by the shelter. There are even a few very young puppies on the list.
Can anyone save them? 🙏

Fostering is free, and out of state adoptions are possible anywhere in the U.S. via a rescue.

We got the biopsy results back for Ethel because she had a big lump on her back, and we were absolutely heartbroken to hear that it was a malignant tumour.
When we hear news like this, we don’t just think, “Oh, that’s so sad because she has a malignant tumour.”
Of course it’s sad, but what makes it even harder is knowing that her chances of finding a home now are practically zero.
And that really stresses us out because we hate seeing a dog grow old in kennels.
We hate seeing a dog have no chance when, in reality, there may be absolutely nothing wrong with her.
The tumour may never come back. In fact, the report says it is likely that it never will.
She’s a beautiful, young, wonderful dog who just wants to love somebody.
What do you think, guys? 🙏🏻❤️

Someone who can give Ethel a chance, get her out of the kennels, and help her move beyond the fact that she once had a malignant tumour removed?

Baby Britney is one of two tiny puppies we took in late the other night after being brought to us by the Gardaí.
These precious little babies were found terrified and alone in a filthy shed, with no food, no water and no light. They are only around 12 weeks old. 💔
Britney’s little tummy is very swollen, so she is being scanned to make sure there isn’t something more serious going on beyond worms. We are desperately hoping it is something that can be treated easily, but right now we just don’t know.
It breaks our hearts to think about what could have happened to these two babies if the Gardaí hadn’t intervened, if they hadn’t heard their tiny whimpers and gone to investigate.
Sadly, no one can be prosecuted as the Gardaí were unable to link the shed to a particular home.
For now, all we can do is love these little ones, keep them safe and get them the veterinary care they desperately need. ❤️

Now, we’re not entirely convinced she actually is one… but if calling her Italia makes you think she might be, and that helps her find a home quicker, then we’re absolutely going with it! 😉
Italia is around 10 months to 1 year old, incredibly friendly, sweet and affectionate, and weighs just 7.5 kg.
