#SceneNowSaudi: Spoke Too Soon?
Iconic footballer Lionel Messi is leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer to - reportedly - join the Saudi Pro League in a USD 400 million deal. His salary would double that of rival Cristiano Ronaldo, who currently plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
Messi’s father, Jorge, is said to be representing him in discussions, and the deal is being facilitated by former Manchester City CEO Garry Cook, who is now executive president and CEO of the Saudi Pro League. Reports of Messi’s potential move come as PSG suspended him for taking an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia as a tourism ambassador.
Lionel Messi will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season when his contract expires, sources have told ESPN's @LaurensJulien.
