Our first contestant on “the snow’s just right”. After 12 in of heavy wet snow and 2 hours of bedding pens this heifer wants to calf and so the fun begins. Who’s next?

Lost a calf after 2 days 😞 it had intestinal issues nothing we could do, but mama gets a 2nd chance. Had a set of twins just after so the surrogacy training begins. Hope she takes it I really don’t want to bottle feed.

A 60km (40 mile) wind after more than a foot of snow makes it hard to get to the barn during calving. We cleaned it out with tractor or we might not get home

Nothing like calving in a snowstorm. Over a foot of snow and still falling. So a mid nite bedding run to keeps babes warm and dry. Hope cows wait til morning to calve.
