I voted against the $858 billion Pentagon budget because it’s time to invest in health care, jobs, housing and education – not more weapons of destruction.
Mike McDaniel said it's good Tua "doesn't have anything more serious than a #concussion."
I don't think this guy gets it. A concussion is a traumatic brain injury & posturing suggests brain stem injury. It's pretty high on the list of serious medical consequences of football.
Alabama’s thirst for inflicting a tortuous death on citizens will not stop until we vote these death machine advocates out. ADOC cannot be trusted to keep people in its care alive nor can they administer a swift execution. Incompetence & cruelty is a terrible combination.
And then there are the Christians who say “now our work begins…let’s care for them.” That’s terrifying: if you can’t care for people until you win, then your theology never saw their humanity in the first place. They were only pawns in your game. That’s not of God or Jesus.
Christians should be involved in helping shape the country. Christians should not be trying to create a “Christian” nation. To be people of faith means we join God and our neighbors in creating a more loving and liberating country for everyone, not a “Christian” one.
Let me get this straight:
The Supreme Court says states cannot decide how to regulate guns—yet only the states can decide how to regulate a woman’s body.
HERE ARE SOME ANSWERS FOR YOU: Don't let teens buy guns. Pass a federal background check requirement. Pass a federal red flag law. Close the Charleston loophole. Confirm an ATF director. Fund community violence intervention programs. Stop taking NRA money.
Uvalde
School shootings are not fucking acts of nature, like hurricanes and tornadoes. They're man-made acts of inaction, of cowardice, of corruption by all lawmakers who refuse to pass laws PROVEN BY DATA to stop preventable, senseless shootings like in Uvalde.
At this point, Congress is just an arms dealer. No education. No access to healthcare. No housing. No clean drinking water. But we’ll finance your war.
There’s nothing pro-life or pro-family about the movement that harnessed white rage to elect “traditional values” candidates who consistently vote against living wages, access to healthcare, affordable housing, public education, immigrants & plans to address the climate crisis.
In Arkansas, a school district decided to power their schools with solar panels. They ended up saving more than $300,000 a year.
What did they do with the money they saved?
They put it towards the teachers' salaries.
Today's declaration from the WH banning Russian oil is, potentially, a turning point for the world.
If we use it to wean ourselves off fossil fuel fast, as Biden says we will, then we can take on both despots and climate destruction.
It may be a day historians look back on
