The henna is applied wet and appears dark at first, as seen in the first image. As the henna dries, it becomes crusty. After scraping the crust off, the beautiful stained bottom layer is revealed with vibrant orange/red hues in a unique design, as seen in the second image.

Henna is made from henna plant leaves. After the dried leaves are crushed they are turned into a paste and filled into a henna cone. Henna artists use these cones to create elaborate designs on the hands and feet.

Sun-drying is a staple Indian pickling technique that enriches the flavor of fruits like mangoes before preserving them in spices and oil for a yummy, spicy, Indian pickle.

Another popular item is sun-dried tomatoes made by placing tomatoes underneath the Sun producing a rich tomato flavor perfect for bread or pasta.
