A BUTTER KNIFE, That’s not what Richard Cottingham’s stepfather used to stab the boy when he was 13. His abusive stepfather used the real thing.

When Lee Davis was in his 20s, he battled with substance abuse and committed a series of non-violent burglaries. When he went to jail for his crimes, it was almost four decades ago Jimmy Carter was President, Culture Club and Cindy Lauper had hits on the radio and Lee was 28.
