🦂 SCORPION STINGS
FOR EVERY PERSON KILLED BY A VENOMOUS SNAKE 10 PEOPLE ARE KILLED BY A VENOMOUS SCORPION 🦂
What everyone should know to stay safe.
FIRST AID: What to do immediately
1.Move away from the scorpion
2.Stay calm. Panic spreads venom faster
3.Wash the area with clean water and soap
4.Apply ice pack in the first 2 hours to reduce pain
5.Keep the affected limb below heart level and still
6.Remove tight clothing, rings, or bangles
7.Go to the nearest hospital as soon as possible.
If it can be done safely, take a photo of the scorpion for identification. Do NOT try to catch it with bare hands.
❌ What NOT to do
•Do NOT cut the wound
•Do NOT suck the venom
•Do NOT tie very tight tourniquets
•Do NOT apply chemicals, herbs, or engine oil
•Do NOT give alcohol
•Do NOT rely on home remedies instead of hospital care
Every year about 1.2 million people are stung, and sadly a few THOUSAND die from it. In some countries, SCORPIONS KILL MORE PEOPLE THAN SNAKES.
Most stings are accidental. Scorpions are shy, night-loving creatures that hide in shoes, clothes, cracks in walls, firewood, and bedding. When we touch them by mistake, they sting to defend themselves.
Out of about 1,500 species, only around 50 are dangerous to humans.
❗ Not every sting is deadly
Most scorpion stings cause painful local reactions only and can be treated with pain relief and simple care.
But some species inject powerful NEUROTOXIC venom that can affect the BRAIN, HEART, and BREATHING.
Children and elderly people are at higher risk because their bodies cannot handle the venom as well as healthy adults.
⏱ How fast do symptoms start?
•Venom can act within 5 minutes to 4 hours
•Symptoms usually last 10 to 48 hours
•The first 24 hours are the most dangerous
If a person survives the first day without serious breathing or heart problems, recovery is usually good.
🔴 Common symptoms
1. At the sting site
•Intense burning pain
•Tingling like electric shock
•Redness and swelling
•Extreme sensitivity to touch or temperature
2. General body symptoms
•Nausea and vomiting
•Excessive saliva
•Sweating
•Restlessness and anxiety
•Fast heartbeat or high blood pressure
3. Dangerous signs (EMERGENCY)
•Difficulty breathing
•Confusion or abnormal behavior
•Uncontrollable jerking of arms and legs
•Trouble swallowing with drooling
•Very high or very low blood pressure
•Collapse
In children, symptoms can look dramatic: nonstop crying, body twisting, flailing movements, yet the child may still be awake.
🧒 Who is most at risk?
•Children: more severe reactions and higher death rate
•Elderly: weaker body reserves
•People with heart or lung disease
•Those stung near the head or chest
Most stings happen at night between 6 pm and midnight, especially in hot seasons.
🏥 Hospital treatment
Doctors will:
•Monitor breathing, pulse, and blood pressure
•Give oxygen and fluids if needed
•Treat pain and muscle spasms
•Use medicines to control heart or blood pressure problems
•Give scorpion antivenom in severe cases
Antivenom works best when given within the first 2 hours after the sting. It can reverse serious symptoms quickly, but it must be used in a hospital because allergic reactions can occur.
⚠ When to rush to hospital IMMEDIATELY
The victim is a child, pregnant woman, or elderly
•Sting on face, neck, or chest
•Vomiting, excessive saliva, or trouble breathing
•Unusual movements or confusion
•Fainting or severe weakness
🧹 Prevention tips at 🏡
•Shake shoes and clothes before wearing
•Use mosquito nets at night
•Seal cracks in walls and floors
•Keep firewood outside
•Avoid walking barefoot at night
•Use gloves when gardening
Final word
Most scorpion stings can be survived with quick, sensible action. The real danger comes from delay, wrong home treatment, or ignoring early warning signs.

9.Caramelizing onions makes them sweet because cooking breaks down the sharp sulfur compounds, allowing the natural complex sugars to stand out.
10.The world’s largest onion ever grown weighed a massive 4.9 kg
11.Eating parsley after consuming onions can help neutralize the notorious “onion breath.”
12.Onions come in numerous varieties and colors, including red, white, yellow, and the “candy-cane striped” Chioggia beet, each with a different flavor profile.

Please be with someone who thinks everything about you is a big deal. Your birthday, A big deal. Favorite food, Big deal. Fav flowers? Big deal. You in general? A big deal.
Earlier this year, I got a gig that was way above my skillset. I panicked but took the job. I convinced the client that the job would be nothing short of perfect. Then, I began to pray daily for the Spirit of wisdom and grace for diligence in this work. I used Bezalel and Oholiab as references to God in my prayers and held on to Philippians 4:13 as my mantra.
Long story short, after the job was done, the client was so impressed, he called me aside, told me I was due for a bonus and then gave me a cash bonus of $300.
Three nights ago, as I was rounding off my prayers, the Lord brought the story of Gideon to my mind, it was unexpected as I hadn’t studied the book of Judges since last year. What followed was an unexpected exposé. As I pondered on the story of Gideon, I thought to myself, “You know what I find most fascinating about the story of Gideon? Its how the least person from the weakest clan in one of the smallest tribes would blow a trumpet and 32000 men would come running. What sort of magic was that?”
Here is what the Spirit laid in my heart as a response. “I know its a popular saying that God doesn’t only call the qualified but qualifies the Called. But that’s not all. He bestows upon the Called, the grace that qualifies him for the calling.”
God’s grace is often said to come in two dimensions; His saving grace and His enabling grace. His enabling grace empowers us to do His will. In Judges 6:34, Scriptures explains to us how Gideon was empowered with enabling grace to have such influence over the 32,000.
It says “But the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon; then he blew the trumpet, and the Abiezrites gathered behind him.”
He had such influence because the Spirit of the Lord came upon Him. So, clearly, a man can obtain grace from God to outperform the best version of himself.
It is the will of God that we prosper and excel in the assignments we find in our hands but our struggles and failures can be largely attributed to our failure to obtain grace to do those things.
So, if you’re currently struggling in your career, studies, relationship, marriage, in parenthood and even in your spiritual life, learn to go back to Him and ask for a bestowal of grace. Grace to do and be all that He has called you to do and be.
The writer of Hebrews encourages us to come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. And aren’t we always in times of need?
“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” - II Corinthians 12:9
Everything happening here reflects war time numbers; inflation, poverty , massacre , hunger, unemployment rates.
Even some countries at war have it better than us.

The issue is that some of you equate ‘victim’ with ‘good person’ and ‘abuser’ with ‘bad person,’ so you struggle to understand how someone who seems kind can also be an abuser, or how a victim can behave in contradictory ways.
Being a victim is not a declaration of righteousness.
