Today we worked in small groups and did a fun Halloween activity. The goal was to teach about different patterns. I read them a book about Halloween after.

This week at my placement I got to read a book to the kids. It was called “Creepy pair of Underwear”. They loved it and thought it was the funniest thing ever. A good book to read before Halloween too!

We went over general expectations at my placement. Embracing effective classroom practices: routines help transitions between activities. Expectations set the tone and guide student behavior.

I noticed one way my mentor teacher encouraged her students to stay on task was to give them a pom Pom. Each student had a cup with their name on it. When a student was doing well they were given a Pom Pom. The goal is to fill the cup. They all love it!!
