I've taught European history for 30 years. Americans have always asked me how the Holocaust was possible, how Germans could have enabled a madman reveling in mass murder to carry out his plans. Now we can see in real time how this is enabled; now we have front-row seats.
Zack Polanski:
‘Shabana Mahmood is being deeply irresponsible’
‘Conflating, ultimately weaponising an antisemitic attack against those protesting against genocide is wrong’
This man is a leader.
Speaking to truth.
🚨BREAKING: Last night the Global Sumud Flotilla was attacked by drones - again.
British-Palestinian journalist @kieran_andrieu was aboard one of the ships.
Despite these attacks the flotilla sails on, because the mission is too important.
Why isn’t the genocide in Gaza being stopped?
Because it pays—and racism justifies it.
My upcoming report lays it bare.
Palestinians have long been the testing ground for weapons, tech, and even agriculture.
If you think you are not involved, you are naive.
If you think you are safe—you are not paying attention.
I don’t Amal but in Arabic it means hope. Amal is one of the 2.38 million Palestinian children who have the right to a future.

Pressure works!
The EU can no longer ignore the clear demand of millions to end Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.
Shamefully late, @vonderleyen proposes EU action on Gaza after nearly 2 years of Israel’s relentless bombardment & starvation.
But what's next? 🧵
Finally....
The European political elite cannot run away from the facts. The evidence. The sufferings. Israel's genocide and repeated violations of international law.
The EU can no longer ignore millions of protestors who for the last 23 months have denounced Israel's crimes.
Shamefully late, @vonderleyen proposes action on Gaza.
But there is still no timeline, no recognition of genocide, no naming Israel as the perpetrator.
@Amnesty urges all Member states, to adopt these measures and explore others, unilaterally or collectively.
We especially call on 🇩🇪 🇮🇹 to Please NOT block these measures. Palestinian lives depend on you.
#Humanitymustwin.
#SOTEU
The 1st concrete measure from the EU Commission. The ‘bare minimum’ it should be doing in the face of a genocide.
Its overdue, limited & inadequate considering Israel’s violations, Palestinian's suffering & the range of EU tools available.
Yet, still member states can't agree!
Frankly it should be hard to top previous violent and unlawful actions the Berlin police have meted out to people protesting about Israel’s genocide against the Palestinians but this footage is deeply troubling and requires urgent investigation and accountability
Western countries will never be forgiven for their role in the deliberate and mass starvation of innocent children, in front of our eyes, in the year 2025.
Genocide.
Together with over 100 sister humanitarian and human rights NGOs, we are sounding the alarm: mass starvation is rapidly spreading across #Gaza.
We urgently call on states to take immediate action to restore the full, unhindered flow of food, clean water, medical supplies, shelter materials, and fuel through a principled, @UN-led mechanism; end the siege; and agree to a #CeasefireNow. This is not a moral imperative, it is a legal and political responsibility.
Israel must end its genocide against Palestinians in Gaza now! @amnesty

Israel's Genocide Against Palestinians in Gaza:
In a joint statement released Monday, twenty-five countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Canada, and Japan, called for an "immediate" end to the war in the Gaza Strip, which is besieged by Israel.
"We (...) come together around a simple and urgent message: the war in Gaza must end immediately," wrote the foreign ministers of these countries, for whom "the suffering of civilians in Gaza has reached new heights."
We need actions, not just words:
· Ban all weapons transfers
· End EU-Israel Trade Agreement
· End any trade with the Occupied Territories
· Sanction Israel
· Protect those sanctioned by the US
· DO everything possible to end the humanitarian blockade and the engineered starvation of Palestinians
· Many more
Crucially: We need actions from the EU Commission.

🚨Israel just bombed the very Gazan church Pope Francis used to call daily during the genocide
They injured the very priest, Gabriele Romanelli, who used to update the Pope on the situation.
2 church goers were killed, 6 wounded.
EU Israel agreement
The EU’s refusal to suspend its agreement with Israel is a cruel and unlawful betrayal – of the European project and vision, predicated on upholding international law and fighting authoritarian practices, of the European Union’s own rules and of the human rights of Palestinians.
This vote will be remembered as one of the most disgraceful moments in the EU’s history. European leaders had the opportunity to take a principled stand against Israel’s crimes, but instead gave it a greenlight to continue its genocide in Gaza, its unlawful occupation of the whole Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT), and its system of apartheid against Palestinians.
The EU’s own review has clearly found that Israel is violating its human rights obligations under the terms of the Association Agreement. Yet, instead of taking measures to stop it and prevent their own complicity, member states chose to maintain a preferential trade deal over respecting their international obligations and saving Palestinian lives.
This is more than political cowardice. Every time the EU fails to act, the risk of complicity in Israel’s actions grows. This sends an extremely dangerous message to perpetrators of atrocity crimes that they will not only go unpunished but be rewarded.
Victims are entitled to far more than empty words. Member states must now take matters into their own hands and unilaterally suspend all forms of cooperation with Israel that may contribute to its grave violations of international law, including a comprehensive embargo on the export of arms and surveillance equipment and related technology, and a total ban on trade with and investment in Israel’s illegal settlements in the OPT.
