Earlier today @RUSI_org, reflecting on this morning's news, foreign policy, the role of journalism and the impact of war, with four world-renowned figures @CombatStress Armistice Address. Grateful to all for being a part of this 🙏
@CombatStress, we believe military trauma shouldn’t destroy the lives of veterans and their families. For many the battle continues. It only takes 40 seconds to watch the video below, but it could save a life. Please help spread it.

Our latest advert, broadcast on Sky TV, shows that without suitable support, conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder can go on to destroy lives and tear families apart.

#ForMany
For many veterans, traumatic experiences during service leave them facing serious mental health challenges decades after leaving the armed forces. Without suitable support, conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can go on to destroy lives and tear families apart.
Our expertise fills a critical gap within traditional mental health services. On average, it takes 13 years from leaving the military for a veteran to seek our help, and demand for our services is set to rise.
Today sees the launch of our new campaign, For Many, created to show that for many the battle continues. We want to raise awareness of the expert support available from Combat Stress for trauma-related mental health issues and ensure we can help not only the veterans who need us now, but those who’ll turn to us in the years to come.

In a letter addressed to the nation, General Sir Peter Wall appeals to the general public to play their part in increasing support for specialist charities like Combat Stress, stressing that for many veterans, the battle continues at home.
Accompanied by the signatures of top military leaders, Peter writes, “We have a long and proud history of supporting our military. Now we must fulfil our duty as a nation to support all those who have gone to extraordinary lengths to keep us safe and strong at home, but are now suffering the consequences.
“In the past three years alone, our charity has seen a 44% increase in new referrals from former service men and women seeking treatment for some of the most complex mental health conditions arising from military service.”
