When I wrote in @USAToday about JD Gordon of Trump camp national security team strong-arming the RNC platform committee to change language on Ukraine to favor Putin, JD (pal/partner w/Michael Caputo) contacted his rightwing editor pal at the paper to pull the piece and fire me 1/
I am excited about the opportunity to work my way back to the Major Leagues. It’s even sweeter to attempt this while wearing the uniform of my hometown team, the Toronto Blue Jays.
The video was shared by the group @KonstantinTeam Supplying soldiers with medical & technical equipment - I recommend reading the message of the original post, and the activities of this wonderful team

‼️Very telling interview with a Russian collaborator and a faux governor of Zaporizhzhia Oblast Yevgeny Balitsky about what was happening to Ukrainians who opposed Russian occupation at the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Not only does Balitsky openly admit to forced deportations (which are war crimes) but he also hints at executions of the pro-Ukrainian residents of Melitopol.
It’d be interesting to know how his new masters feel about Balitsky allowing people he knew to ‘escape’.
FYI: When Balitsky talks about not being a Tolstoy follower he's referring to the Tolstoyan movement that is comprised of Christian pacifists.

I announced today that Canada is sending over 800 SkyRanger R70 multi-mission Unmanned Aerial Systems to Ukraine.
These drones, valued at over $95 million, will help Ukraine as it fights bravely to defend itself from Russia’s illegal and unjustifiable invasion. 🇨🇦🇺🇦
We live in a time increasingly resembling the second half of the 1930s. I couldn't live with myself with the knowledge I didn't do more to stop another Hitler. In light of the Republican wavering and in memory of Navalny I will give $100 towards FPV drones for Ukr for every RT.
There is no one for whom the ongoing war in Europe does not pose a threat. This war defines more than just the place of Ukraine or entire Europe in the world. This is Russia’s war against any rules at all.
But how long will the world let Russia be like this? This is the main question today.
Please, everyone in the world, do not ask Ukraine when the war will end. Ask yourself – why is Putin still able to continue it.
Let’s not fear Putin’s defeat and the destruction of his regime.
Let’s instead – work together to destroy what he stands for. It is his fate to lose, not the fate of the rules-based world order to vanish.
And may our world, based on rules, never become the world of yesterday.

‼️This old interview with Soviet and Russian writer Viktor Astafyev is not something you’d ever see getting rerun on Russian state propaganda TV.
Just way too many parallels between what Astafyev talks about and the current war. The overall situation in the country, really.
Not to mention it’ll go against Russia’s latest tendencies of resurrecting the cult of Stalin and presenting WWII as a heroic Soviet victory over Fascism.

@MetaGorgonite @Stativerse_ @stats_feed I think canada includes when one spouse takes their child illegally in a custody battle. Other countries may not track it the same way.
@accfanto@jen_keesmaat That’s not true by a long shot. Providing water and sewer services to an apartment are vastly more efficient then single housing.
@jen_keesmaat Those regional services should not fall on the shoulders of Toronto residents but rather should be paid by Ontario and or federal. If we aren’t receiving proper subsidies for the regional services that all non Torontonians enjoy we should put pressure on them to.
@anhkhoido@jen_keesmaat They should be lower since we have more density. Assuming all cities have same services delivering them should have a savings. This should help compensate somewhat for higher real estate.
