Thutmose III ruled ancient Egypt from 1479 to 1425 BC and earned his place as one of history's most formidable military leaders. Though he became pharaoh at age two, his stepmother and aunt Hatshepsut served as co-regent for the first 22 years of his reign. After her death in 1458 BC, Thutmose III emerged as sole ruler and immediately demonstrated the military genius that would transform Egypt into an ancient superpower.

Over his reign, Thutmose III conducted between 17 and 20 military campaigns—every single one victorious. His most famous achievement came at the Battle of Megiddo in 1457 BC, where he boldly led his forces through a narrow mountain pass his generals deemed too dangerous. This daring tactical decision allowed him to outflank the Canaanite coalition and secure a decisive victory that gave Egypt control of northern Canaan. The battle forced Syrian princes to send tribute and hostages to Egypt, establishing Egyptian dominance throughout the region.

Thutmose's military innovations revolutionized ancient warfare. He created the world's first organized navy, pioneered the strategic use of hostage-taking to ensure loyalty from conquered nobles, and employed revolutionary tactics like portaging boats overland to surprise his enemies. His campaigns stretched Egypt's empire from Syria in the north to the fourth cataract of the Nile in Nubia to the south, crossing the Euphrates River and making the Mitanni kingdom submit to Egyptian power.

Beyond his military prowess, Thutmose III proved himself a prolific builder, constructing over 50 temples and commissioning magnificent architectural projects at Karnak. Historians have dubbed him "the Napoleon of Egypt" for his unprecedented conquests and strategic brilliance. When he died in 1425 BC after 54 years of rule, he left behind an empire at its zenith and a legacy as ancient Egypt's preeminent warrior pharaoh.

Thutmose III's military campaigns fundamentally reshaped the ancient Near East for centuries. His conquests expanded Egypt's territorial control to unprecedented levels, creating a vast empire that brought immense wealth through tribute, trade routes, and access to valuable resources like Lebanese timber and Syrian minerals. The policy of taking noble hostages and garrisoning strategic locations established a system of imperial administration that maintained Egyptian dominance for generations. His military innovations—particularly the creation of a professional navy and advanced chariot tactics—influenced warfare throughout the Mediterranean world. The tribute and plunder from his campaigns funded massive construction projects that employed thousands and enriched Egyptian culture with foreign artistic influences. Most significantly, Thutmose III transformed Egypt from a regional power into an international superpower whose influence extended from Nubia to Mesopotamia, establishing diplomatic relationships with kingdoms as distant as Babylon and the Hittite Empire, and creating a legacy of military excellence that subsequent pharaohs sought to emulate but rarely matched.

The "profoundly disabled" baby three doctors insisted I had to kill so I could "save my fertility" and "have better luck next time."

That woman at the DNC celebrating how she requested and then paid for doctors to dismember her baby and remove him from his safest home is evil.

These animals do not belong in our country. They should rot in cells in countries where caveman behaviour is tolerated. There is no excuse for this ever happening to British girls by overwhelmingly Pakistani Muslim men who believe that young white girls are sub human fair game.

@jk_rowling Thank you for your unwaivering courage to speak the truth in this backwards, looney world. Others are afraid to speak up for what's right while you CONSISTENTLY use your platform to fight lunacy with truth and reality. Your voice is more important than you may know.

Narnia is Christian. People think Aslan is just a symbol for Jesus. C.S. Lewis said, "No, he IS Jesus."

C.S. Lewis clarified that Aslan is not an allegory (like a symbol in a poem). He is a "supposal." Lewis asked: "Suppose there were a land like Narnia... what would Christ become if He entered that world?"

The answer is a Lion. Aslan is literally Christ in another form.

In Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Aslan tells the children: "I am in your world too. But there I have another name. You must learn to know me by that name. This was the very reason why you was brought to Narnia, that by knowing me here for a little, you may know me better there."

Narnia was written to train children to recognize the voice of God.

The body of Tollund Man, was discovered in the Bjældskovdal bog some 10km west of Silkeborg; Denmark, in 1950 by the brothers Emil and Viggo Højgård. The bog body was so well-preserved that their immediate reaction was to call the police. The police in Silkeborg had an idea of the true facts of the case as bog bodies had been discovered previously (in 1927 and 1938) in the same bog, so they called in the museum staff. The farms of Emil and Viggo Højgård were in the village of Tollund; thus the best preserved bog body of the world came to be named Tollund Man.

Professor P. V. Glob, Aarhus University, arrived and saw to it that the bog body was transported to the National Museum of Copenhagen for further examinations. Researchers now stood face to face with an ancient person, one of our Iron Age forefathers. Tollund Man was laying in a relaxed position, his legs bent against his abdomen. His face was alarmingly well-preserved, his lips, nose, eyelids, eyebrows, wrinkles, stubble, hair - a face with its quite personal features, yet common to all mankind. The naked body had been placed in the peat bog, like a sleeping body, a cap on his head, a belt round his waist. A braided leather rope around his neck unveiled the cause of death: by hanging. Behind the apparent peace and tranquility was a glimpse of horror and drama.

Tollund Man became the object of many scientific examinations. Carbon-14 datings show that he died around 350 BC, i.e. early Iron Age. His age is estimated to be 40 years; his body heigth of 161 cm makes him a somewhat small man, even in his time. Finger prints and footsole patterns of the old Iron Age man are like those of many modern men. Two scars on his foot show that he must have walked barefoot part of the year and sometimes cut his foot; a couple of times so deep a cut that it was evident 2350 years later. His foot also showed a certain use of footwear. Tollund Man was clean-shaven and his hair was cut short. When we see stubble on his face today, it is due to the fact that he did not shave on the last day of his life, and his skin shrank a bit in the bog and during the preservation process. The reddish colour of his hair and beard is caused by the bog water.

Forensic experts extracted the stomach and intestines of the old body for examinations. A botanist examined the remains of his last meal and concluded that Tollund Man had eaten a gruel or soup of some 30 different plant seeds, notably primitive barley, linseed, gold-of-pleasure, and knotgrass. His meal was purely vegetarian.

Why Tollund Man was hanged and buried in the peat bog we shall never know. But his fellow men did not treat him like a criminal: after he died, they carefully closed his eyes and mouth and carried him to the peat bog, where he was laid to rest with care. This bears witness to a dignified burial. Thus it is reasonable to see Tollund Man as a human sacrifice to the god or gods. Maybe to the god of the bog, he who gave men peat and other goods. Early Iron Age societies cremated their dead, only bog bodies had a different burial - perhaps the gods would be appeased by a whole body only and not by burnt bones.

Tollund Man had stayed in the bog for some 2350 years when Emil and Viggo Højgård found him in 1950. What made the discovery at all possible, is the content of bog acid in peat bogs, this acid has a tanning effect. When the body was uncovered, it was decided to try to preserve the head, a foot and a finger. The preservation proved a success, and in 1952 the head of Tollund Man was the highlight of the prehistoric collections when Silkeborg Museum opened in its new premises, Silkeborg Manor.

When I was trans🏳️‍⚧️, I lived a lie that I called my “true, authentic self.” I thought I was happy. But my happiness was a fragile, superficial mirage. Every day I was harming myself in mind & in body.

Two years ago, I quit my gender transition. I’ve never been happier.
