Ok, I think I’ve found a library who are interested in carrying out this digitization project. I won’t say too much until it’s confirmed, but now we need someone at the National Archives of Egypt to reach out to for a collaboration. If you’ve ever done research involving the…
Ok, I think this is actually worth a shot. We already got one prospective volunteer. If anyone would be interested in contributing to such a project, or know someone who might, reply here or DM me! Anyone can join; bonus points if you have experience with archival research
Remember how everyone rushed to use his photo, of his walking toward an IDF tank to advocate for the lives of his patients? Rushed to plaster it everywhere, rushed to make AI edits, art, whatever. That was in December 2024.
How often is he mentioned today? He is alive, he is being tortured and slowly killed - he, alongside every Palestinian hostage, must be freed.
I was wondering where I had seen the name "Jewish Policy Center" before, only to remember they were the ones who called for the murder of our Christian community in Gaza.
We’ll also also need a letter of affiliation from a professor at an Egyptian institution, so if you work at an Egyptian university, or know anyone who does, and are interested in this project, please let me know!

…Egyptian National Archives or know someone who has, please DM me or let me know in the replies, so we can contact the people at the NAE that you worked with!

I've repeated the same points ad nauseum by now yet people nonetheless insist that Pāḷi was the language of Buddha.
Pāḷi was not a spoken language; rather, it is an artificial monastic kunstsprache or koine based on existing Western MIA languages/dialects of the 3rd or 4th century BC.
The original Māgadhī or Ardhamāgadhī corpus was translated into this language, which was initially carried down orally and was not transcribed onto ola leaves (at the Aluvihāra Council in Sri Lanka) until the 1st century BC.
There was no combinatorial checksum system akin to the Veda system of vikṛtipāṭhas, so we will never how significantly the corpus has changed since the time of Buddha.
The transmission relied on the less reliable bhāṇaka system and saṅgīti recitation, etc.
One can apply methods of textual criticism and can compare the Pāḷi canon to the Chinese Āgamas, yet the Chinese Āgamas are ultimately translations the Kuṣāṇa era manuscripts from Gandhāra which date to around the same time as the Aluvihāra Council.
We do not have any reliable way to bridge to gap between the 6th century BC (time of Buddha) and the 3rd century BC when the original [Ardha]māgadhi canon was translated into Pāḷi.
Nor is there any reliable way to bridge the gap between 3rd century BC and 1st century BC when the canon was committed to writing.
#Syria: the Security forces infiltrated #Suwayda-city, under Hijri control, and liberated 3 people kidnapped & held by Hijri-affiliated militias.
They were successfully exfiltrated.
This is the second operation of this kind this year.
Two years of lying about bombing hospitals in Gaza – supposedly to target "Hamas control and command centres" underneath – has really paid off.
Now Israel bombs Lebanon's hospitals and doesn't even need to pretend there's a military rationale.
So the “ceasefire” would effectively cede southern Lebanon to Israel without any promise by Israel to stop attacking.
Hezbollah has declined this offer.
Two relevant observations:
1. The ethnonym “French” comes from the Franks, who were not originally native to Gaul
2. From medieval to modern times, the French were never the only native ethnic group in what’s now called France
@KenRoth I would not believe anything Barak Ravid writes about “tensions” between Trump and Netanyahu. He pulled the same shtick with Biden, and all that alleged talk amounted to nothing. Biden and Trump still give Bibi whatever he wants
“What’s this?”
“Your next-generation space telescope, sir”
“No, no no, it’s not 2027 yet”
“It’s launching this summer now. We even did it under budget”

This is exactly why billionaires can’t exist. This man is burning the entire world down because he cannot accept his daughter for who she is. And he has the money to actually do it. No one can have that power.
Rashida Tlaib and the winner of the NJ-12 primary Adam Hamawy were casually smeared as “terrorists” by mainline politicians and commentators over the past 24 hours. Will we get panicked trend pieces about “Muslim safety” and the “alarming rise in anti-Muslim racism?” We will not.
