The new hiring filter isn't "can you code." It's mental modeling over precise syntax translation.
Can you hold complex abstract structures in your head and explain them clearly to a non-human reader who is both extraordinarily capable and subtly alien?
@thorstenball What's breathtaking is the speed of the exponential.
For a class of problems, the model can now already triage and fix for me.
To the extent that they are consistent, agents will run over the codebase continuously. We facilitate that with even more new tools and context.
Check out Clayton Christensen's Law of Conservation of Attractive Profits (from The Innovator's Solution):
When one layer of a value chain gets commoditized, the profit opportunity doesn't disappear — it shifts to an adjacent layer. Previously "good enough" becomes the new bottleneck and the new source of differentiation and value.
The general principle: wherever there's new abundance, look for the new scarcity where the value accumulates.
That said, even that is temporary. I can already have the latest models triage, fix, and exception handle already.
We become more valuable for a brief moment and then get taken out of the loop completely for more and more tasks.
Computer science wins again. Almost nothing that one step of indirection can't make more powerful.
Though the magic trick in history is finding the correct abstraction first.
@dieworkwear@NateSilver538 BUT.. These reciprocal tariffs are based on the total deficit not categories, the target country could buy anything to reduce the tariff. Oil, corn, turbines. Just not financial assets.
Incentives. A hybrid with a 7kwh (small) battery pack qualifies for a full $7500 IRA credit PER VEHICLE.
Can capture 6x the subsidy for the same amount of batteries all at a lower vehicle price.
+US domestic battery supply limited - 25% tariff on imported Chinese batteries.
@Austen To understand what DOGE is doing right now in the government, understand and internalize the leverage and speed of spinning up projects just like this one.
@Hondo320F16@MarioNawfal 24/7 omnipresent surveillance and control applied to land, sea, and air. A terrifying psychological effect while making boots on the ground irrelevant with no obvious counter.
Scalable to swarms of millions while autonomy removes the requirement of soldiers to wield them.
