Using @Tesla FSD 12.5.6.1, I’ve noticed limits of a camera-only system. Morning sun glare forces takeovers, and dark country roads make B-pillar cameras think they’re broken (preventing FSD engagement). What solutions could address these lighting challenges?

Makes me imagine that a completely vision-based approach MUST include more than the vehicles today… maybe an IR projection from the B-pillar towards the ground (if the imagery will see some IR). Maybe a ‘sun visor’ or some other mitigations for dazzle….

@teslascope @Tesla Might also be nice to have human-commanded lane changes with the turn signal rather than defeating autosteer every time you shift lanes on highway. I think some other car makes allow this with lane centering.

I was just Supercharging, and this Ford Lightning comes in. The Chargers were getting full, and this poor gentleman was looking about for a spot for a long time until he ended up doing this.

I got out and spoke with him about his nice new truck, and he spoke highly of Tesla, their superior maps and how he felt fortunate to be able to use the Supercharging network. What he felt bad about was how he had to park, and how he had no choice but to take up two spots.

I am really glad that these other vehicles can use Tesla’s Supercharging, but is it possible to make longer cords for them? The gentleman I spoke to was so sweet, and I would hate to see someone get angry at our fellow EV owners for taking up extra spots at no fault of their own.
