Vocab/writing tip from @margaretmckeow2:
Don’t ask kids to write a sentence with a new vocabulary word - they can fake it!
E.g., does “I feel cozy” show understanding?
Instead try having them complete a sentence stem: “My cat looks cozy when…” which requires more thinking!
