1) It is possible that I don’t know enough and that’s a perfectly reasonable red card in World Cup play.
2) That call is why soccer will never catch all the way on in the US. To have a guy booted AND then miss a game for that is an outrage.
My son asked me “why is he getting kicked out.” And I said “because he stepped on that guy’s foot.” And then I realized how insane that is.
Soccer is a completely unserious sport. It had me fooled for a little bit. I was willing to look the other way on the flopping and the insane refusal to just stop the clock during breaks. That red card just shattered the facade and I hate it again
@AJ_Lich@matt_lozar if nick bosa got suspended in the playoffs for a weak roughing the passer call you might have a point. the equivalency you’re searching for doesn’t exist in american sports, which is why americans are annoyed and turned off by it. that’s just the reality
@matt_lozar@AJ_Lich guy compared a 15 yard penalty that happens all the time to an ejection and one game suspension. and then acts like he’s the intellectual. incredible stuff
I defer to you. I’ll assume you’re right.
I can’t stress this enough: if that foul was worth playing 11 on 10 for a third of a game and losing your best player for the next game — I just can’t get all that into the sport.
That’s beyond ridiculous.
@EldridgeIsKing@zeff364443@ByMMonreal this is the issue with the giants being horrible for a decade+
i know what good players look like. i even enjoyed mid players from time to time to cope. gilbert is neither
@C2Cbsbl yeah i mean he sucks too. but i wouldn’t hate that move as much i guess… but when smith blew it we’d all be sayin the same stuff. the lefties are brutal. none of them know where the ball is going. hentges, miller, gage…better off just turning the game off
