Every minister in the new Plaid Cymru Cabinet is a fluent Cymraeg speaker. For the first time in 622 years, since the parliament of Owain Glyndŵr, our government will hold its Cabinet meetings in Cymraeg, the mother-tongue of our nation, and indigenous language of Britain 🏴
@PushTheSutton@arran_hibbert@normanlamb Without relitigating 11 years on, I would disagree! 2014-20 was very much the time to push under-championed liberal causes (and Norm spoke often of that "liberal age"); distancing ourselves from the coalition via Tim failed because removing that branding was never up to us.
It’s perfectly reasonable for a woman (or anyone else) to be unhappy about their club hiring someone who went above and beyond to launder the reputation of a man credibly accused of domestic & sexual abuse, and if you think that’s ‘woke’ your brain has been rotted by the internet
@SpursOfficial A disastrous appointment and an affront to everything that my club stands for. I feel sorry for all the women who work for or support us. Should’ve appointed Davies or Mason and let us go down holding on to a shred of whatever dignity we have left.
Spurs literally signed the first black player in England, Walter Tull in the 1910’s, was sanctuary for Jewish fans in the 1920’s, sparked the modern revolution of signing foreign players in the 1970’ and created one of the first LGBTQ supporters associations.

In the current context, we are seeing an actual “short circuit” of #HumanRights. The right to freedom of expression, freedom of conscience, religious freedom, and even the right to life are being restricted in the name of other so-called new rights, with the result that the very framework of human rights is losing its vitality and creating space for force and oppression. This occurs when each right becomes self-referential, and especially when it becomes disconnected from reality, nature, and truth.
The history of US interventionism in Latin America is a history of human rights violations, human experimentation, slavery, poverty and genocide, not emancipation. Maduro is a monster who does not care about his people, but let’s not be naive: neither does the US
