Mr. @GovMikeHuckabee we call on you again to condemn these acts of hate against Christians in Jerusalem. We call on you again to ask the Israeli government to CRIMINALIZE these acts for what they are.
These are hate crimes anywhere in the West. Why aren't they hate crimes here?
Was asked to go to Azerbaijan for a lecture . I declined (they yuugely upped their offer, not understanding my ethics, thinking it would make a difference).
I will not set foot in Azerbaijan with Reuben Vardanyan jailed there.

The Corsican Assembly has adopted a resolution calling for the immediate release of 19 Armenian prisoners unlawfully held in Azerbaijan, according to the Artsakh Support Association (ASA). The resolution also reaffirms the right of displaced Armenians from Artsakh to return safely, with dignity, and without obstruction to their homeland, in accordance with the provisional measures issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
The resolution specifically names former Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan, former Presidents Bako Sahakyan and Arkadi Ghukasyan, National Assembly Speaker Davit Ishkhanyan, former State Minister Ruben Vardanyan, Generals Levon Mnatsakanyan and Davit Manukyan, former Foreign Minister Davit Babayan, along with 11 other Armenian detainees. It characterizes the legal proceedings against them in Baku as arbitrary and inconsistent with international legal standards.
Hovhannes Gevorgyan, the Representative of the Republic of Artsakh in France, said efforts to defend the rights of the people of Artsakh would continue with the support of political parties, civil society organizations, and citizens committed to upholding international law.
The resolution comes nearly three years after the ICJ ordered Azerbaijan to ensure the safe, dignified, and unimpeded return of displaced Armenians from Artsakh. According to ASA, that ruling has yet to be implemented, while the continued detention of Armenian political prisoners in Baku represents a serious violation of international human rights obligations.
ASA expressed its gratitude to the members of the Corsican Assembly and the Core In Fronte political group, which introduced the resolution. According to official figures, 19 Armenian prisoners remain in Azerbaijani custody. Former Artsakh officials have been sentenced to prison terms ranging from 20 years to life imprisonment. Since the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) closed its Baku office in September 2025, no international humanitarian organization has been able to visit the detainees.

“We Georgians should reflect on one thing: we are an orphan nation, and the Armenians are our twin. On this earth, we have no one—and will never have anyone—closer than the Armenians. A Georgian has no closer relatives than an Armenian. We must understand this well if we want to succeed as a nation.”
— Giorgi Maisuradze, Georgian historian
French-Armenian artist, composer, and producer Essaï Altounian has been named a Knight (Chevalier) of France's Order of Arts and Letters (Ordre des Arts et des Lettres), one of the country's highest cultural distinctions.
The honor was presented during a ceremony at the French National Assembly in recognition of Altounian's artistic achievements and his longstanding contribution to strengthening cultural ties between France and Armenia. The Order of Arts and Letters, awarded by France's Ministry of Culture, recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the arts and to the influence of French culture around the world.
Born in Paris, Altounian first rose to prominence as the lead singer of the pop group Ideal-3 before going on to perform in several of France's best-known musical productions, including Roméo et Juliette and Le Roi Soleil. Over the years, he has also established himself as a composer and producer across music, theater, and film.
Throughout his career, Altounian has remained closely connected to his Armenian heritage, incorporating Armenian themes and history into his work. His notable projects include the 2015 Armenian Genocide commemorative song Je n'oublie pas, and he also represented Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest.
To mark the occasion, Altounian recorded an a cappella performance of the ancient Armenian prayer Der Voghormia inside the 4th-century Geghard Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, dedicating the performance to the honor and to the enduring friendship between Armenia and France.

Armenia is set to become home to one of Europe’s most prestigious football academies after Portuguese giants SL Benfica announced the launch of Benfica Academy Armenia, the club’s first academy in the Caucasus.
Opening ahead of the 2027/28 season, the academy will be based at the Football Federation of Armenia’s Technical Center in Yerevan and will initially welcome more than 1,000 boys and girls aged 4 to 17.
Operating under Benfica’s direct technical supervision, the academy will introduce the Portuguese club’s internationally acclaimed youth development model to Armenia, giving young players access to elite coaching while also helping train Armenian coaches and football professionals. The partnership will also create opportunities for talented Armenian players to attend training camps, exchange programs, and talent identification initiatives at Benfica’s academy in Lisbon.
Beyond player development, the project will deliver a major upgrade to Armenia’s football infrastructure. Six football pitches and the existing stadium at the Technical Center will be renovated, with a second phase set to transform the site into a modern high performance football complex.
Benfica described the academy as one of its largest international football development projects, with the goal of making Armenia a regional center for youth football while creating new pathways for the country's next generation of players to reach the European stage.
Rising Russian Tennis Player Alina Charaeva To Represent Armenia In Citizenship Switch 🇦🇲
➖➖➖
24-year-old Russian tennis player Alina Charaeva has changed her sporting citizenship from Russia to Armenia and will now compete under the Armenian flag, following extensive efforts and long-term negotiations, and with the support of the Keron Development Foundation and the Armenian Tennis Federation. She immediately becomes the highest-ranked woman in Armenian tennis and will represent the country in international tournaments going forward.
Charaeva joined the Keron Development Foundation's Talent Pool program. This decision marks a pivotal moment in her career. Previously, she competed for Russia, where she reached a career-high singles ranking of 118th and currently sits at 130th in the WTA rankings. Her arrival opens new challenges and opportunities for her and is expected to significantly boost the development of women's tennis within Armenia.
Charaeva joins Elina Avanesyan, who previously changed her sporting citizenship from Russia to Armenia, as part of a growing wave of talent strengthening Armenia's presence and competitiveness in international women's tennis. Two years ago, with the Keron Development Foundation's support, Avanesyan obtained citizenship of the Republic of Armenia and, in March 2025, opened a new chapter in the history of Armenian sport by becoming the first Armenian woman to be ranked among the world's top 40 in the WTA rankings. This year, competing for Armenia's national team, she reached the second group stage of the Billie Jean King Cup, the women's world team competition.
Charaeva was born on May 27, 2002, in Samara, Russia, and began playing tennis at the age of five, receiving the title of Master of Sport of Russia in 2018. She has won 210 singles matches and has claimed one WTA 125 singles title along with eight singles and six doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit.
At the junior level, Charaeva achieved notable results at the sport's biggest events. In 2020, she reached the girls' singles final at junior Roland Garros, falling to France's Elsa Jacquemot, and a year earlier she played in the girls' doubles final at the French Open alongside Anastasia Tikhonova. She also rose to 12th in the ITF junior rankings in 2020, and has since competed in the qualifying rounds of Grand Slam tournaments.
Charaeva made her WTA Tour debut in 2019 at the Kremlin Cup and reached her first WTA 125 final at the 2025 Huzhou Open. In February 2026, she captured her first WTA 125 title at the Dow Tennis Classic in Midland, United States, defeating Guo Hanyu in the final. She trains at the CMC Competition Academy in Barcelona and has worked under coach Carlos Martinez since 2018.
Her inclusion in the program is an important step in expanding Armenia's sporting presence, and for the Keron Development Foundation it stands as another example of how international talent can become part of Armenia's development, visibility, and athletic future. The program is the Foundation's flagship initiative, aimed at drawing high-level professionals and talents to Armenia across culture, sports, education, healthcare, and regional development. It presents Armenia as an environment where international experience and individual potential can create long-term value, and at present it involves 10 specialists, two athletes, and one sports duo.
With Charaeva's switch confirmed, Armenia gains another strong and promising athlete, contributing to the country's more visible and competitive presence on the international stage.
