The clock has run out. As of June 24, 2026, the first of Microsoft’s original Secure Boot certificates, the Microsoft Corporation KEK CA 2011, has officially expired, with the Microsoft UEFI CA 2011 following on June 27, 2026. A third, the Microsoft Windows Production PCA 2011, is set to expire on October 19, 2026.

Together, these certificates have underpinned firmware-level boot trust on every UEFI-capable PC deployed since the Windows 8 era, more than a billion devices worldwide, including systems running Linux distributions.

WhatsApp Launches New Username Feature to Communicate Without Exposing Phone Numbers

WhatsApp introduces a new privacy update that lets users connect using unique handles, eliminating the need to share phone numbers with strangers or new group members.

At its core, the WhatsApp username feature replaces the need to share a personal phone number when initiating new conversations. Once enabled, a user's phone number remains entirely hidden from new contacts; they will only see the username.

To reserve a username now, users can navigate to Settings > Account > Username on the latest version of WhatsApp.

‼️ BREAKING: Anthropic has embedded hidden spyware-like code in Claude Code that covertly targets Chinese users. It then sends information regarding every user by injecting it into their prompt message.

Claude Code is sending info like timezone, proxy and possible AI Lab connections into the system prompt in ways Chinese users can't notice.

A coding agent with repo and command permissions should not silently hide routing metadata inside prompts. This is a serious breach of user trust.

Nearly 3 months ago, my @facebook /and
@instagram accounts were disabled after what I believe was unauthorized access.

@Meta told the @OhioAG they had secured my profile and contacted me to help me regain access. They later requested my ID, which I submitted nearly 3 weeks ago.

Since then, I’ve followed up repeatedly but still haven’t regained access or received a clear resolution.

These accounts aren’t just social media—they’re years of heart transplant advocacy, patient education, and connections with the transplant community.

I’m now considering legal counsel because after months of following every step requested, I’m still waiting.

Victims of account compromise shouldn’t feel like they’re being punished twice: first by losing access to their account, then by an account recovery process with little communication or transparency.

If anyone at @Meta or anyone who has successfully navigated this process has advice, I’d appreciate it.

@gmail Hello, I'm contacting you because I've lost access to the Google account that owns my YouTube channel, and I'm unable to recover it despite trying every available recovery option. Earlier today, I was attempting to connect my YouTube account to legitimate creator partnership platforms. During this process, I encountered a bug where Google repeatedly sent multiple 2-Step Verification prompts to my devices. While trying to resolve the issue, I made several sign-in attempts and removed one of my verification devices so that only my iPhone would receive verification prompts. After this, Google's security system began blocking my own sign-in attempts. I received notifications stating that Google had blocked someone using my password from signing in, but those attempts were all made by me while trying to access my account. I am now unable to sign in to my Google account. Every attempt results in messages stating that my password was changed recently or requests an 8-digit backup code that I do not have. I have also gone through the official account recovery process multiple times without success. What makes me believe this is a security lock rather than a compromised account is that my YouTube channel remains completely unchanged. My channel name, videos, description, and content are all still intact, and I have not seen any evidence that anyone has taken over or modified the channel. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could review my account and help restore my access or advise me on the appropriate next steps. This Google account is the owner of my YouTube channel, and I am very concerned about losing access to it permanently. #googleaccount

Absolutely ridiculous that @Meta, as a trillion dollar+ company, is allowing people’s business accounts to be disabled with zero human support or accountability.

For 3 months my main Instagram account @dylanofm has been locked/deactivated.

40,000 followers. Years of work.
My main income source.
Gone overnight.

Meta Support are now telling me my appeal was denied.

Guess what?

I never had an appeal.

No email. No in-app appeal option. No review form. No chance to even explain the situation.

Just a permanently disabled account.

I’ve never intentionally violated Instagram’s Community Standards and I’ve been building this account for years.

My business runs through Meta platforms and I’ve spent over $500,000 on Meta ads, yet when my main account gets disabled, I get passed around support chats with no one able to actually review anything.

One Meta agent told me on a recorded call that my case would be manually escalated and that I’d receive an appeal option within a few days.

That never happened.

Another agent later apologised for “misinformation provided by our team,” said they could forward me to a supervisor, asked for my email, and then closed the case.

No supervisor. No appeal. No manual review.

The craziest part is Meta reinstated multiple linked accounts after identity verification and emailed me saying the activity does follow Community Standards on account integrity.

They literally said:

“We’re sorry we got this wrong.”

But my main account @dylanofm is still locked/deactivated.

There have also been reports of a Meta AI/support exploit where people were allegedly able to target Instagram accounts and change/link emails through support-side flows.

That would explain why I never received the disabled-account email.

And Meta Support won’t even confirm whether any email, recovery, login, or support-side account changes happened.

No appeal, no review, no explanation.

Just my business account sitting there waiting to be permanently deleted.

The saddest part of all of this is that it opens the door for endless grifters and “unban guys” charging thousands to try and recover accounts because Meta’s official support system is so broken.

I’ve already paid people claiming they could help.

Most don’t work.

And the official channels are somehow even worse.

What an absolute clown world Meta has become.
