@SecDuffy@USDOT wait. isn’t designing cities so you have to have a car class warfare? average american spends $12k on their vehicle. get public transit, pedestrian and biking options and you basically raise the lower class to middle class on a post transportation cost basis
@RealCandaceO what a sad career you have chosen. instead of doing real work you are basically a national inquirer fake journalist from tbe grocery checkout aisle in 1995. why not find a real cause to advocate for? i think you got a start trying to fight online bullying - now u r one!
@mandophotos seems you haven’t realized chicago is the new moderate climate zone. it rains more in winter than snows. that lakefront is accessible year round but yes a couple, and only a couple, of weeks in winter are pretty cold to hit the lakefront
@AbundantHomesIL please contact the alderman’s office to show support. this group is a charlatan - they act like they are for development but really they are just defending driving and parking

@barclay_je14066@BlockClubCHI people voted with their feet, not wheels on sunday. they showed that cities are for people not car storage. cars are a part of america but should not be the center of our urban design. they should be a part of it. let’s have transportation options
@RealCandaceO when you are old and looking back on your life, i question whether you will say it was a life well lived. pedaling bunk stories on public figures seems more like a life and intelligence wasted. sorry you have chosen this path
@SecDuffy@POTUS aren’t you only supporting roads as secretary? killing americans wealth by making them own a highly depreciating asset that costs on average $12k per year to operate (and depreciate). seems you don’t want transportation options
@pjlavish change is hard and those that drive are like smokers of the 1980s. there are bad consequences of their actions, but with cars it is traffic, pollution, high costs etc. but just like smokers they will defend the lifestyle bc any change threatens their world view
@RickyDoggin says the meme creator with a bias one way and no sense of understanding history or geopolitics. it’s easy to post, hard to actually understand complex situations. you chose the former every time.
@RezaC1 can you find a real job? you offer nothing to any discussion it’s easy to be against any change but if you actually articulated some vision beside traffic clogged streets, which is the default, then you may actually add some value to discussions.
@RepNancyMace are you really a congresswomen nancy? sliding into name calling make fun of people meme type posts?
aren’t you supposed to be legislating? your pettiness is disturbing
@WrightRealtor1@ChicagoDOT you know what helps businesses - people not wasting $12k on car (AAA auto data in average cost of a car) and instead spending it at local businesses.
just bc you want to drive everywhere doesn’t mean the rest of the city has to. i don’t say get rid of roads for cars
@SecDuffy@POTUS ditch the car. it is the biggest wealth killer in america. most spend more on the car than they save for retirement. cars keep you poor. there is a different way than straddle every american with a high cost transportation that is highly depreciating
@miriam_riviera we want better targets to hit pedestrians. when you make corners safe how can we hit people and blame the parked cars? this is really unfair
