This list has been on the wall of my class then Office for ever and was and is the most important list I’ve ever had. It’s constantly reminded me that teaching is more than what happens in lessons and that it’s about being human.
After 13 years of drive to improve reading standards through phonics approximately 20% of pupils don’t meet the accepted standard in phonics through schools' phonics programmes and 31% are transferring to KS2 having failed to meet the government’s accepted standard in reading.
The head of Ofsted declaring that an Ofsted inspection only impacts upon the most senior staff in schools just demonstrates that she has literally no idea how either schools or inspections operate. #BBCLauraK

@michael_merrick Also, it’s so important when they bring in from home little pictures and writing they have done completely independently and maybe not linked to school subjects. I used to love celebrating all their efforts with them and the rest of class!
@imagineinquiry Definitely broad and balanced curriculum, love seeing son’s previous secondary school engaged in wider community. Pastoral care was important, such a big transition from primary to secondary. Progress 8 was good but that can fluctuate on cohorts.
