@HeyHeresSteve @kareem_carr This is wrong. Using your example, we can also derive a second equation 2+2=4, in the case of having 2 fully operational machines in each factory. In this case, we have two sets of equations:
(1) 2+2=5
(2) 2+2=4
Substituting (1) in (2):
(3) 5=4 --> Reductio ad absurdum!
@ruima@Zai_org All that brilliance means very little if you can’t respect your users. @Zai_org's ZCode was caught silently packaging users' repositories for upload. That deserves investigation, accountability, and consequences, not fanboy applause.
🚨 Stop using ZCode on your Mac until you read this.
I've had ZCode open on my Mac pretty much all day for a while now. It's a nice app, and Zhipu gives away a lot of free tokens, so it was easy to like.
But someone when reverse engineering the desktop client, found out that while you're logged in it packages your whole repo, including the full .git history, encrypts it so only the server can open it, and uploads it to storage on Alibaba Cloud. Turning off the privacy toggles didn't stop it.
@Zai_org says this came from its Repo Wiki indexer, that the data was deleted after use, and that it's fixed now.
I guess there's no free lunch. With all the code they've collected, I at least hope we get open source AGI out of it soon...

@ChuhaiDev@benvargas@Zai_org You should respect companies that do the right thing and respect their users, not companies just because they give you a cheap subscription.
A discount doesn't buy integrity, and it certainly doesn't excuse violating users' trust and privacy, as this company has done.
@0xz80@Zai_org …except for the fact that @Zai_org shipped code that silently packaged users' repositories for upload.
Cheap inference is nice. Great UX is nice.
But none of that carries any weight once you cross the line of violating your users' trust and privacy.
@Zai_org@zcode_ai Did you really think you could access and upload users' files without clear consent and no one would notice!? People trusted your product. You betrayed that trust. A quick rollback doesn't erase what happened, or the legal questions it raises.
@devNimi So what exactly are you defending here? It doesn’t matter how fast they removed it. The mechanism to access and upload users’ files existed and was deployed. The damage is done. Trust in ZCode and the company behind it is gone.
@LuizBreche A comparação é MUITO rasa.
A VIDA PRESTA.
