Mr. Pale Maung, the commander of the no. 6 Battalion of the Pale - People Defence Force (PDF), was fatally shot dead during a meeting by an aide to Suan Tu Maung who is the tactical commander of the NUG-led PDF in Pale township, located in the Sagaing division of Myanmar's northwest region.
This violent incident has severely damaged the reputation of the National Unity Government (NUG).
