Through the m&m experience my musee’s have taught me so much about making connections. In “A Long Walk to Water” we learned how precious it is to so many. This tank allows the Lake Sturgeon to survive & grow just like the well helped Nya’s village #edr321#makeconnections#GRPM

This week I did some reading about writing and real-world math. The video above describes a school that uses 3D printing in an engineering class. I also enjoyed learning about partnering with business in math #edr321#realworldmath
One of the images I used to describe mathematics and reading. We think of reading as an adventure, but when we say that we're thinking of non-fiction. In mathematics, we try to figure out the best route to take, asking questions along the way when lost, and are curious #edr321
I have been looking for ways to use Desmos other than just graphing functions and making figures. After reading “Increased Participation and Conversation using Networked Devices”, I’ve found some more ways to incorporate technology in a math class #edr321
I have been searching for a good resource for helping ELL’s in the classroom and this is one of them. My CT and I have been trying to develop ways help our students and hopefully we can put these tips into practice. Section 3 discusses specific teaching strategies to use #edr321
If you have not checked out Design Zone @GRMuseum I would highly recommend!! Connecting art, music, and engineering in a fun and educational way. #edr321#edi331
This is a great review activity for a pre-algebra class. I think this would be an engaging activity for the students and I can see my algebra 1 students loving this. Involves the whole class and could be a great idea for other math classes #edr321@gvsuCML
Checking out the CML on campus and found this gem. May be useful as an introduction or reminder of the SMP of looking for and expressing regularity in repeated reasoning (patterns/connections) #edr321@gvsuCML
Supporting ELL’s in the classroom is essential for learning and growth. By providing teachers with resources and P.D. opportunities we are making students a priority, many schools don’t have that support. High expectations for teachers and students is needed! #edr321
PBL has been an inspiration for me since seeing it in practice with energizing our world. As an advocate for creative problem-solving & collaboration I’d be interested to see how PBL can be used in relation to content standards. Anyone have experience with this? #edr321#pblchat
What are some ways to get our students engaged but also staying on target for meeting standards in time? So many are just skating by to get through to the next grade and just don’t seem to care that they are doing poorly and don’t understand. @ProfJonh@delta_dc
#mtbos High school teachers--what happens to students who fail your classes? How do they recover the credit? Bonus--how do you support struggling learners? I teach in a diverse urban high school and students get to Algebra I at a really wide range of math skills.
Playing JENGA today while practicing solving equations made for an exciting review day! 💜 Blocks were color-coded to match problems on the sheet - with answers on the back. My students had a BLAST! #OBproud#iteachmath#mtbos
