Babar Azam may end up with more runs than Don Bradman, Viv Richards or even Virat Kohli in future, you never know..
But greatness isn’t just numbers.
It’s the impact when team needs you most, what makes these players great. 🏏 #INDvsPAK#IndvsPak2026#T20WorldCup
Software Engineering is dead then what is alive?
Rashmi graduates from IGTUW this year
she always wanted to build an AI Startup
but has very less know in algorithms and sys design
Rashmi starts building
She used Claude Code to churn out code for
the UI, Backend APIs and configurations etc.
She puts everything together and
Voila! a dating app is ready
The algorithm of match is simple
Both parties will be given
10-20 memes and based on there liking
A match will be found
All working great
100 people signed up on launch day
and by end of month
4M subscribers has joined the app
VCs lined up for funding
team has been hired
The app works on freemium model
99% users are on free tier
Problem starts to arise
Cloud bill is $200K
Churn Rate is at all time high 40%
Unmanageable AI code
Recommendation systems
as they are sucking money
VCs are asking for revenue growth
Revenue is only $100K
Hackers are DDoSing the app
4 months to close shop
So many things just blew out of proportion
But what’s its relation with Coding or learning DSA or System Design?
The idea is simple
If your foundation is not optimal
the skyscraper will come down one
day or the other
Algorithms are not just a tool for solving computational problem
Its also a thinking model
You must use these models
to think any solution and convey it to AI
If Rashmi knew about concepts of
Rate Limiting
Load Balancing
Progressive Requests
Sharding
Microservices etc.
She might have a little / tiny bit advantage here.

System Design is knowledge is the need
of the hour
Code is automated but the systems requires
context which on humans have
—
Till the time we use computer and program
Learning to code, data structure and algorithms and system design
Is an absolute must for every software engineer
But the principles of software engineering is still and will be alive forever!!
> 2025 - 90% code is written by Al
> 2026 - 100% code is written by Al
> 2027 - 10% code is written by Al, Senior SWEs are paid 10x of today to clean up the Al-written code mess.
I’ll say this very clearly.
AI will not replace good engineers.
It will expose bad ones.
AI is not making everyone smarter.
It’s making smart people smarter
and lazy people more dependent.
That’s the uncomfortable truth.
If you don’t understand basics,
AI answers won’t save you.
They’ll confuse you more.
If you can’t read code,
can’t debug,
can’t think logically…
AI will only hide your weaknesses
for some time.
And then reality hits. Hard.
Here’s what I truly believe:
If you’re a student or beginner,
learn to code without AI first.
Struggle.
Break your head.
Google things manually.
Write wrong code.
Fix it yourself.
That pain is important.
That pain builds thinking.
Once your foundation is strong,
once you actually know what you’re doing…
Then use AI.
In your job.
In your projects.
In your startup.
AI should be a multiplier,
not a crutch.
Good engineers use AI to move faster.
Bad engineers use AI to hide gaps.
The goal is not to stop learning code.
The goal is to learn it so well
that AI works for you, not instead of you.
Curious to know your thoughts.
Agree? Disagree?
Let’s discuss.
DSA isn’t about clearing interviews.
It’s about training your brain to think in systems, edge cases and efficiency.
Maybe that’s why product companies value it so much.
