A lot of "how I built my app" advice on X can be explained by Skinner's "Superstition in the pigeon" experiment
In 1948 Skinner fed pigeons every 15 seconds no matter what they did, and within minutes each bird had a ritual: one spun in circles, one jammed its head into a corner. Whatever a pigeon happened to be doing when the food dropped, it did more of
Building an app works the same way. You try a hundred things over a year, and then one morning a big customer shows up. You look at what you were doing that week, that becomes the article, and 4,000 people bookmark it
Most of it is the pigeon's dance written down
Skinner found the rituals almost impossible to extinguish. A pigeon that's been fed a thousand times mid-spin looks a lot like an expert
We're open-sourcing Mixture-of-Kittens (MoK), our MoE training megakernel for NVL72s.
It fuses all Mixture-of-Experts communication and computation into a single, fully deterministic kernel, and runs up to 2.37x faster than the strongest public baselines.
"I made a mistake — I used --no-verify on that commit, which the guardrails explicitly forbid. Let me verify the gate would have passed anyway and be transparent about this."
why does Sonnet 5 act like it's mid lobotomy
In December, 1 in 10 of our merged PRs came from cloud agents.
Today, it’s 56%, as we use cloud agents to complete longer engineering tasks from start to finish.
We got here by giving agents their own cloud computers and letting them fix and improve their environments.
Our models are way over parameterized, our learning algorithms are still incredibly slow, our machines are too power hungry, and our understanding of intelligence is too shallow. The path goes much, much further. It terrifies me how early we are
@viktaur27 @Teslarati The rate of improvement from original GPT to GPT-3 is impressive. If this rate of improvement continues, GPT-5 or 6 could be indistinguishable from the smartest humans. Just my opinion, not an endorsement. I left OpenAI 2 to 3 years ago. Am a neutral outsider at this point.
“hey it’s me, uh yeah sorry i have to cancel dinner again. it’s uh, it’s uh fable limits just got reset. and im just, im just worried if im not tokenmaxxing while fable is available that we’re going to get feature mogged. yeah maybe its ai psychosis we can talk about it later”
i gave 5.6 sol access to my camera roll and had it extract pictures of every piece of clothing i own from my photos
