i gave 5.6 sol access to my camera roll and had it extract pictures of every piece of clothing i own from my photos
then, told it to find new outfits for me and render them on me with gpt-image!
its kinda cool to see your entire wardrobe in a collection like this
i'd love to see interesting things people have built with 5.6 sol.
i will send the person who made the coolest thing a special gift from the openai archives.
you can use codex voice from your phone now, connecting to your computer from anywhere!!
@axbehr and i got to star in this new codex ad, showing how much you can get done while working out.
btw, this is powered by the new gpt-live-1
OpenAI's @cdngdev predicts robotics will have its own version of the 3D printing craze, with people buying cheap, open-source robot arms and connecting them to agents.
"I can see a world quite soon where, similar to when everyone went and bought 3D printers and ran software, everyone's going to buy plastic, cheaper robot arms that you can clip onto a table, put stuff in front of, and plug them into agents."
"The price of classic robotics equipment is thousands of dollars at the moment. This arm I'm using here is a Hugging Face SO-100 robot, which is open source, fully 3D printable, and around $200."
"People can just pull up Codex and start controlling robots with it right now."
awesome essay! external vs internal
understanding is very interesting. i notice how as humans we don't always recognize the capability jumps, or in a way accept them as reality, forgetting what things were like 6 months ago. we maybe don't really *feel* the exponential capabilities increase as much as it exists.
for example ~8mo ago no model could look at a restaurant receipt and split it between people, but this is incredibly trivial now (just an example i noticed recently). but in my mind i completely forgot that this was not possible, and sort of see just the current reality. this example is insignificant compared to the maths one, but says a similar thing.
another thing is that a lot of people tried GPT-3/4 to do complex tasks a while back, it didn't work, and assume that as current reality. need to try it again! it's difficult to understand where the model is without giving it the hardest task you can think of and seeing what it does, and how it's improved at that task over time.
exponentials are very difficult to notice, at least for me, unless you do the math on the back of a napkin
@ramya_iyer1 cool demo! curious if you have it draw it in a painting app with computer use first, then try to paint it separately using the computer use part as a reference how different it will come out
