A terrific focus for @badw_muenchen's Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum project conference in October: 'Ceramics in Times of Crisis: Greek Pottery as Social Artefact, 430โ400 BCE'.
One of my absolute favourite pieces from my thesis. It was also found in Meroe, Sudan, the furthest south any piece of Greek pottery has been discovered (from what I could tell!).

So sad to hear this. He was an absolute titan of the field. He leaves behind an unspeakably important legacy in the study of ancient Greek archaeology, and his work will undeniably shape the understanding of students and scholars for decades to come.
