Barn owl passed low, right over my head, then I was treated to ten minutes watching it hunt. 3 teal on the river and a pair of Egyptian geese over.

Little egrets are like buses in Warwick...you wait for nearly 12 months for one, then there's two sightings in 24 hours.

Now they're found just chilling on a roof in the town centre 🤣🤣

Our 66th bird and my first contribution to the Warwick 100 list for the year!

And yes, little Jack Bradbury is 18 😮

A flurry of sightings over the last couple of days puts the team on 63 for the year so far. 🙂

Most notable is today's little egret, flying toward the racecourse. It took until December to tick one last year, so it's great to have one bagged already. Well done Steve and Rick!

This afternoon's stint has taken us up to 59 for the day - highlights include cetti's, sparrowhawk, reed warbler, a late swift and this lovely whinchat spotted by Chris.

Having been hobbling on crutches for a few weeks (won't walk 100km non-stop again) it was great to get out walking again today.
And I was treated to a fabulous juvenile cuckoo, resting in a tree on the fairway, at the golf course in Leek Wootton!

@JDeanbirding I'm one of the annoying positive ones, I'm afraid, but not blind to the destruction.
Saying that, I've seen so many more insects than ever before recently. Is this a small (literally) start to recovery? More wildflowers and eco farming starting to make a difference maybe?

It seems fitting for Warwick that this exciting and, quite frankly, historical moment comes down to spotting one of the plainest little-brown-jobbies there is! 🤣🤣
