Future people will look back on current discussions about LLMs being conscious in the same way that we look back on Victorians discussing whether the telephone could be used to contact the spirit world.
I don’t mind my data being used my for research to help the NHS etc, however, because the government have now allowed Palantir access, I have withdrawn my consent using this link:

On behalf of their client, Zara Sultana, Bindmans Media and Information Law Practise Group requires that I publish the following statement on X, and that such statement must be clearly visible and pinned to my
profile for a continuous period of no less than 24 hours:
“On 30 March 2026, I published a post on my X account addressed to Zarah Sultana in which I stated that she encourages and incites violence and is friends with terrorists.
Those statements are false. I was wrong and offer my sincere apologies to Ms Sultana for the harm and distress caused to her.”
It is my very great pleasure to do this, and I reiterate my sincere and repeated offer to meet with Miss Zara Sultana in person to resolve our differences.
This is genuinely extraordinary: https://t.co/bCioDPpxC4
Speaking is General Sir Richard Shirreff, NATO's former Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe.
He says that the UK "should not, in any way, shape or form be involved with the Americans because they are being led by a couple of gung-ho nutters like Trump and Hegseth without a proper strategy and without serious thought about what the end state for this war is."
He goes on: "Yet again we have an American president who has gone to war, a war of choice, a war of hubris frankly, without ANY [the emphasis is his] clear idea of how the war ends and without any clear strategy." He predicts that "this thing is going to go south very, very quickly."
He highlights in particular just how foolish it was to kill Ayatollah Khamenei: "The idea of assassinating the Ayatollah Khamenei who was not just Iran's head of state but he was the religious symbol for Shiites worldwide. Assassinating him during the month of Ramadan is about as subtle as murdering the Pope on the steps of St Peter's in Holy Week. It will inflame the Shiite world and what you're doing by doing that is probably pushing large numbers of Iranians who might have been reconcilable, who might have thought about rising up, back into the fold of the irreconcilable."
Im proud to be English and even prouder to be British. But these flags right now are not showing patriotism- they are a show to intimidate our communities and cause division. If youre actually patriotic... Come and help make this country better. The organisations below... (cont)

These are the eight prisoners taking part in what is thought to be the biggest hunger strike in UK history since Irish republicans began refusing food in 1981.
Tonight it has emerged that five of them have been taken to hospital.
Two haven't eaten for nearly 39 days.
🚨Hyperscale data centres could turbocharge emissions.

Israel's parliament has passed a preliminary reading of a bill to annex the occupied West Bank.
The bill, which will eventually require three votes in the Knesset before becoming law, passed with 25 MPs in support and 24 against

Madness, absolute madness.
Hyperscale data centres typically are:
- hugely resource intensive (typical equivalence would be 30-50k homes’ water use)
- of limited impact on productivity
- create very few jobs
- depreciate rapidly - you’re building a white elephant.

Israel has deported 137 people detained for attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. This is the second deportation, after four Italians were returned on Friday.
While those deported seem to be in good health, they have raised serious concerns about the wellbeing of others still detained. “They dragged little Greta (Thunberg) by her hair before our eyes, beat her, and forced her to kiss the Israeli flag,” Turkish activist and flotilla participant Ersin Celik told journalists. “They did everything imaginable to her, as a warning to others.”
Novara Media journalist @Kieran.Andrieu was on the charter flight, which landed in Istanbul on Saturday afternoon, along with eight other British nationals. Four remain in detention.
36 Turkish nationals were also deported, 23 Malaysians, 26 Italians, 6 Algerians, 10 Tunisians, 7 Libyans, 4 Moroccans, 2 Kuwaitis, 2 Jordanians, 9 Swiss citizens and one person from each of Mauritania, the United States and Bahrain.
Novara Media understands this means that 321 people remain in detention. Adalah, the legal centre in Israel that is providing lawyers to detainees, said this morning that conditions may be worsening for some people inside Ketziot prison, with reports emerging of mistreatment and violence.
A spokesperson for Adalah said that while it was difficult to say much at this stage, they are hearing of worse treatment from non-Europeans, and are particularly concerned for those without diplomatic missions in Israel.
Israeli forces have stormed the Marinette, the last boat of the #GlobalSumudFlotilla, capturing all activists on board. The livestream was cut off when a soldier smashed the camera during the raid.
🚨 INTERCEPTION 🚨
Israeli forces have illegally boarded the Flotilla’s vessel Oxygono and others in international waters. Livestreams and communication are down, and the status of those on board is unknown. Governments must demand their safety and release.
