While AI drives acceleration for many business functions, HR departments lag in technology adoption.
This gap hinders efficiency and employee satisfaction.
Do your new year resolutions propose how HR can keep pace with employee expectations and shape the future of work?
Do you trust the company you work for enough to be honest on the employee survey?
A Confidential survey removes your PII and then uses the HR system to group results by team so managers can see (but not individual responses).
An Anonymous survey has no backend data source. These surveys are usually longer because they include questions that ask about your demographics.
two unread emails:
- from HR: please fill out our anonymous survey
- from Boss: don't forget about the survey, HR said you are the last one from our team
@Pam_Rubin1@ThatAndreaM Maybe it’s more about craving authenticity?
As you grow professionally, maybe lead others, and work with folks on their FIRST RODEO… the dynamics of feedback do change.
Who do you trust to give it to you straight? How do experts trust but verify the quality of their decisions?
Why so many metrics?
1) org churn - consistent metrics amidst turnover, promo, transfer, etc activities ensures ongoing transparent communication bus operations. Side effect is also continual learning of what these metrics are and how they’re interacting
2) your comments on “screams change” answer this - most run flat but when one jumps/drops that’s a signal to explain
3) don’t forget that Amazon’s WBR exists in a cascading pattern… first look from the top of the mountain, then check the top 10/bottom 10 contributors to the metric, then zoom in on any one that’s an anomaly.
4) I heard once that a good metric is one that answers two questions: who do I ask? What do I ask them? So in Amazon that means the WBR’s intent is to spotlight where the defect is occurring, identify a person who ostensibly owns it, and call them out to explain and fix if necessary…
@aakashgupta I call this the QBQ - the question behind the question.
Tech and non-tech product managers benefit from familiarity with how their products are actually built.
This clip is great validation of the role tech plays in a product manager’s duties. [note: voice audio not stereo]
@levelsio@GeorgeSiosi Sounds like pro advice.
I’ll explore to see if it’s my style - @levelsio if you have suggestions on groups to lurk on, I’d give them a try.
@GeorgeSiosi@levelsio So many phishing DMs push me to contact them on Telegram (rather than just converse on X or LinkedIn) that I’ve avoided it like the plague.
@emollick So much of the recent Crocs explosion is that they’re “cool again” for younger demographics.
Celebrity sponsors are part of it and Jibbitz ability to make your shoes into a charm bracelet (and continually accessorize) increases their attraction.
