30 years ago - I remember watching a commercial for pepsi that at the end flashed a www address and thought - what is the web stuff? Happy 30th Birthday! What an impact! #Web30#ForTheWeb
Katie - I love the idea of dressing up and connecting the group that way! It reminds me of our spirit week and connecting the students and staff that way!
A6: In my classroom I use certain terminology (codes) such as I call hw “practice.” I encourage students to dress up (garb) like on Election Day for #HBCivics. All this helps build a #tribe#whendecisions
A6: I like to connect the heart- looking for ways to help everyone see how similar we are even though we do different jobs is how I work on synchronizing our HUES staff! Today's connection for love day: how do you show yourself that you are loved and important? #whendecisions
I think modeling how we are feeling when we are close to the "end" of the unit/ lesson/project can help our students feel that sense of accomplishment and build confidence. #whendecisions
Tim - love this strategy - I'm thinking that this strategy could also help our students who struggle with finding one good thing about the school day....maybe writing down accomplishments would help!
A4: midpoints - loved this chapter - am going to shout out and celebrate 1/2 points of trimesters and SY to spark urgency and excitement. Find this info explained a bit about winter down trends! #whendecisions
@paula_izbicki @DanielPink A3: I agree with this statement....we have evidence in that 1000's of MS/HS have not switched their start time....we couldn't make it happen here at SAU41. We should just reopen the issue & play the audio book section where he quotes all the research. #whendecisions

After school staff meetings are tough, days can feel long and people have a lot on their mind. My sons' schools do a 2-hour late start once a month, something like that could help get meetings covered during peak times. #whendecisions @paula_izbicki
A1:#whendecisions. This chapter confirmed that I, as a lark, am truly incapable of engaging in a serious financial discussion with my husband (a night owl) at 10:00pm in a Monday night.
A2: #whendecisions. Looks like afternoon staff meetings need to be preceded by chocolate or coffee and a 15 min nap, meditation or nature walk!! I also have a new appreciation for recess duty to refresh!
A2: I agree after school meetings are tough. I don’t think anyone is at their peak at that time. I do like the idea of having a late start 1x month. I also really like the flipped staff meeting. I feel I read it when I am ready and at my peak to do the work asked. #whendecisions
A2 Staff meetings could integrate pre-play, discussion w movement = better focus or make it earlier in the day. Sitting without interaction is challenging at end of day. Late start Fridays would be better for Staff mtgs with food, movement & participation! #whendecisions
A2: Morning staff meetings would be ideal. I appreciate the Flipped Staff Meeting since it gives me time to process the material. Regardless of the time, movement during a meeting is nice since we are used to moving throughout the day. #whendecisions
