I am shocked, saddened and truly beyond words to express my grief at the loss of Gene Peltola Jr. Anyone who met Buzzy felt his warmth, generosity and charm. It was easy to see why so many Alaskans called him a friend, and how he was so loved by his family.
The Katmai bears were nice to see too. Saw mama bear 901 with her three spring cubs (two cubs in frame, one off to the left out of frame). Any time they ran off too far from her, she would run after them.

Driving around Valdez, Alaska today utterly dumbfounded. I am so impressed with their snow plow ops. Anchorage is currently closed, digging itself out trying to get access to top priority buildings, and Valdez has roads plowed to even their parks and recreational areas.
