@TaraSolbrig @famoros1 @POTUS And to be clear I'm not suggesting people and students don't need help. They do, it just needs to be done in a way that actually benefits them long term. Let's find ways to lower tuition and interest costs so student loans cripple us.

@TaraSolbrig @famoros1 @POTUS Yes but the money isn't free. It has to be paid back. National debt is still debt. We're just paying off one debt with another. Homes and cars are so expensive because we chose short term help (covid relief money) instead of fixing the underlying issue (supply chain).

@TaraSolbrig @famoros1 @POTUS While I'd agree the student loans and college tuition are a problem. This forgiveness does nothing to solve the issue and it only emboldens colleges to continue to raise prices in the future. Many get a short term fix that must be paid in the future.
