God's love for the foreigner is evident all throughout Scripture. It baffles me how we miss out on this. We are called to love our neighbor as ourself. Could it be that we hate our neighbor/foreigners because of how we view ourselves?
A sentence that haunts me just about every day:
“Sin is for one man to walk brutally over the life of another and to be quite oblivious of the wounds he has left behind”
(Shūsaku Endō, Silence).
