WFP is honoured to be part of this interesting journey, providing technical support and investment in agri supply chain development allowing more than 82% localy sourced products for the school canteens in 2024, transferring the program to the Gov. A real social safety program.

🇧🇯 🍽️ Under the leadership of President @PatriceTalonPR, #Benin has completed a transition of its #SchoolMeals programme to full national management.

📚 After years of system strengthening supported by @WFP, the programme was handed over to the government.

🌾 The programme has improved enrolment & nutritional outcomes while increasing the use of locally sourced food, strengthening rural economies.

🎯 Benin has committed to reaching 100% coverage in 2026.
