STILL true: "We may pat ourselves on the back for no longer grading lessons in 20 min snapshots, but we're still going about grading teachers/perf management with the same degree of confidence as when we were grading 20 min gobbets in blissful ignorance." https://t.co/I7OFxpeHvI

Teachers burnout because of:
Constant work scrutinies👀
“tick box” learning walks📋
PM targets on exam results📈
Constantly writing intervention reports📝
Chasing detentions all day🚷
No time for toilet 🚽 or lunch🍴
Every lesson must show progress📶
Every book has to glow🔅
@JoToovey Hi Jo. I'd really like to talk to you about your work / experience regarding the needs of DME pupils for some work I'm doing; Anne Heavey passed on your name but of course I remember your ATL Conf motion. Hope to hear from you.

“The answer is that if we want to avoid children being affected by the funding cuts, then we do need to increase the amount of money available to our state schools."

Meeting with SLT today to try & work out how we are going to take this 'next step' @ofstednews gave us, tricky given @profbeckyallen 's blog!
'governors routinely and precisely evaluate the impact of the pupil premium spending on the achievement of disadvantaged pupils.'
Congrats to @StaufenbergJ@SchoolsWeek on this story about a second Harris academy having Sats results annulled. (I heard a whisper about this a few weeks ago; hadn't realised DfE would confirm): https://t.co/F6TnxlU1xx
The number of teachers aged under 45 leaving the English state school system has increased 40% since 2012. The number of under-45s entering the system decreased by 4% in same period. Losing too many teachers in early-mid career causes structural problems in workforce.
