I think about how college was full of "third places" -- libraries, dining halls, dorm lounges, green spaces -- and then you leave college and you're expected to make friends without these points of connection built in. https://t.co/HgWlSiX1k0
The purpose of education isn't only to impart knowledge and skills. It's to instill a love of learning.
Intellectual curiosity is seeing as much beauty in ideas and data as you do in art and music.
A mark of a great teacher is a room filled with intrinsic motivation.
Holding a space for those estranged/distant from family, mourning the loss of loved ones, or struggling privately. You are not alone. This holiday season give yourself the gift of gentle loving. Even where it’s hard to find joy there is always a journey back to ourselves.

It’s never too early to celebrate #CollegeApplicationMonth because the dreams from elementary school can become reality senior year 🌟
Here’s to all the students that applied to college this month AND to the educators that helped them along the way this month! #IApplied
Last year, @CommonApp sounded the alarm on declining application numbers from #FirstGen students. As we look back on the 11/1 deadline, I’m encouraged that the number of first-gen applicants is up 23% since 2019. [Thread] 1/ #EMchat
Can’t say thank you enough to all the incredible teachers who dedicate their time and resources to educating, celebrating, and encouraging kids heading back to school this year. Every day next week I’ll be fulfilling a teacher’s wish list… please send me your lists! 📝
Love seeing first day/back to school pics. Preschool to PhD and everyone in between. Teachers, admin, and faculty too😍📚✏️ my fav!

You ever spend time thinking abt the multitudes we contain? There is SO much more I’m interested in, enjoy, study and do well that have nothing to do with my scholarship or career. Is it even possible in one lifetime to explore fully all the things? I wish!
Don’t let anything distract you from your true purpose. Don’t chase followers, money, tenure, fame or awards. Do the work that feeds your mind and fulfills your soul. The rest may or may not follow. I do know this —you only have one life. Live it fully and joyfully as possible.
For over 10 days now, around half the residents of Jackson, Mississippi have not had running water.
And nobody is talking about it on a national scale.
I am begging the national media to please pay attention. There is a crisis happening in Jackson.
She still had her Christmas lights up in February, and she received a letter shaming her for it. So, neighbors put theirs back up in solidarity.
