The Fed minutes struck a hawkish tone: all 19 officials unanimously supported raising interest rates, with the majority explicitly favoring another hike before year-end.
A pause in October followed by a likely hike in December amounts to a postponement rather than a cancellation of the rate increase.
US Treasury yields surged in tandem; the 10-year yield hit 5.35% and the 30-year yield approached 5.7%, marking new highs in over two decades.
As gold yields no interest, capital favors bonds in a high-rate environment, and safe-haven buying has been unable to offset this pressure.
The Treasury Department expanded Treasury buybacks in an attempt to suppress yields, but actual purchase volumes were halved; this move was criticized as market interference, causing further panic in the bond market, driving yields higher, and putting gold under continued pressure.
Short-term inflation expectations rose to 3.9%—a three-year high—further capping any rebound.
Gold dipped to $4,066 yesterday before rebounding to $4,144 this morning; however, it failed to break above the $4,170 level (where the previous decline began) or reach the rebound high of $4,184. This represents merely a technical correction within a weak trend, and the bulls have not regained the initiative.
For the intraday session, the strategy remains to follow the trend and look for a pullback. Resistance levels are at $4,144, followed by $4,170.
Short positions can be considered if the $4,140–$4,150 zone holds; targets are $4,120–$4,100, with a further drop to $4,080–$4,060 possible if that support breaks.
If the price stabilizes above $4,150, look for shorting opportunities in the $4,170–$4,180 range.

For Thursday's trading, I favor shorting at higher levels.
#GOLD
The 4140–4150 range acts as a resistance zone; intraday short positions can be taken here, targeting a decline to the 4060–4080 range.
With the US Dollar Index (DXY) maintaining structural strength and the 10-year US Treasury yield hovering near 5.25%, all eyes are on today's US initial jobless claims data.

Short on rebounds: Scale in short positions between 4155 and 4175; stop-loss at 4192; targets at 4100–4060; look to 4040 if the level breaks.
#GOLD
Scale in long positions between 4035 and 4045; stop-loss at 4010; targets at 4080–4120; look to 4155 if the level breaks.
#FOMC
Gold breaks the major rising trendline, but it does not necessarily mean a bad thing. If buyers step in to push gold above the trendline, that would qualify the present breakdown as a false one.
False breakdowns usually result in a strong move in the opposite direction. As such today could be a final capitulation sell-off. Let's watch...

Key Levels
Resistance: 4152–4170
Support: 4123–4100
Trading Recommendations
Long: Enter if the price stabilizes in the 4100–4125 range; target 4150, with further targets at 4170 and 4190 upon a breakout.
Short: Enter if resistance is encountered in the 4145–4170 range; target 4120, with further targets at 4100 and 4000 upon a breakout.
#XAUUSD#Gold touched a high near 4152, but selling pressure pushed prices down, and it is currently testing 4120.
Can buyers hold the line and trigger a strong rebound?
Support levels lie at 4120 and the 4110–4090 zone. If this support holds, a rebound is likely; however, bullish momentum will only strengthen—targeting 4200–4225—once the price firmly establishes itself above 4180.
Conversely, if Gold fails to hold the 4080 level, the bullish outlook is invalidated.

Currently, market focus regarding XAUUSD (spot gold) is centered more on identifying downside opportunities than on seeking reasons to buy. Although the price remains above recent lows, both the fundamental backdrop and the price action on the 1-hour (H1) chart indicate that sellers retain the upper hand in the short term.
The signals on the H1 chart are quite clear: the price continues to trade below the downtrend line, successive rallies are peaking at lower levels, and the Ichimoku Cloud remains a source of dynamic overhead resistance.
There are currently no strong signals to confirm a genuine reversal. At this stage, these rallies appear to be brief pauses within the broader downtrend rather than the start of a new bullish phase.

Our long-term short-selling trade plan remains profitable.

During Monday's US trading session, gold dropped to a low near 4120.
We anticipate it will break below 4100 this week and reach the final target of 4030.

The US jobs data is out and there are surprises:
Job creation was only 29,000 in September, with the unemployment rate rising to 4.2% and monthly earnings growth moderating to only 0.1%. Add to that downward revisions to both July and August (about 60,000 jobs).
On the supply side, a more encouraging development with labor force participation increasing to 61.8%.
This will reinforce the impact of recent Fedspeak in calming expectations about an October rate hike.

🚨BEFORE YOU TRADE NFP, LOOK AT WHAT GOLD IS SECRETLY DOING…
Overall, Gold is moving almost exactly as we discussed in the Friday Asian-to-London session analysis.
At the start of the day, we saw a strong downside move that liquidated many of the buyers who had been active since Thursday. But after reaching the lower prices, Gold recovered aggressively and is now fluctuating below the psychological $4,200 level.
And this is where things become interesting.
NFP is approaching, and Gold is trying to hold below the $4,200 round number before one of the most important events for the forex market.
If we look at the broader structure, Monday’s fall was extremely strong. After that move, Gold created a lower high around $4,219 and then another lower high around $4,192.
Technically, the structure still looks bearish.
But there is one major problem for sellers:
PRICE IS FAILING TO ACCEPT LOWER PRICES.
Friday opened with strong selling pressure and pushed Gold aggressively lower. However, sellers failed to maintain control at those lower prices. Buyers stepped back in and pushed the market higher again.
For me, this is one of the most important observations before NFP.
Now think psychologically.
The market is below $4,200.
The overall trend looks bearish.
Lower highs are visible.
Monday’s selling pressure was strong.
And the retracement from Monday’s move gave sellers another technically clean opportunity.
If you apply Fibonacci from Monday’s high to Monday’s low, you can also see that the pullback reacted around the 0.618 area before the market moved lower again.
So what does the majority see?
A bearish market.
That means many traders may already be comfortable holding shorts or looking for fresh selling opportunities, especially while Gold remains below $4,200.
And this is exactly why I’m interested in the opposite side.
My NFP bias is BUYING.
I’m watching for a strong breakout above $4,200, followed by a potential move through the major lower-high area around $4,219.
Why?
Because a breakout above $4,200 could immediately put pressure on existing sellers while simultaneously attracting fresh buyers who previously avoided buying because the trend looked bearish.
If Gold then breaks above $4,219, the psychological shift could become even stronger.
Sellers may start exiting.
Late buyers may start chasing.
And liquidity could begin building at higher prices.
That is the scenario I’m watching for.
My upside area for the NFP move is approximately $4,220, with the possibility of an extension toward $4,226 if momentum becomes aggressive.
The bigger idea is simple:
I believe the market may first trap the sellers who currently feel comfortable, push Gold above the obvious bearish structure, and attract buyers at higher prices.
That higher-price liquidity could then become important for the market’s next move.
But remember: NFP is an extremely volatile event.
This is my market view and a scenario I’m preparing for, NOT a guaranteed outcome. During major news, spreads, slippage and volatility can increase dramatically.
Manage your risk properly, reduce your position size, and if you’re not experienced with news trading, there is nothing wrong with staying out and simply observing the reaction.
Good luck everyone. 🔥
I hope your NFP goes well and you close the week in profit.
What’s your view on Gold for NFP?

FED PAUSE ODDS SURGE TO 85% AFTER WEAK JOBS REPORT
Kalshi now prices an 85% chance the Fed holds rates in October after payrolls rose just 29,000 vs. 84,000 expected.
Unemployment climbed to 4.2%, triggering a sharp dovish repricing of the Fed outlook.

Although the Non-Farm Payrolls data is bullish for gold, there is resistance overhead in the 4228–4235 range; therefore, it is prudent to wait for a pullback before entering the market.
The 4190–4195 zone offers a good entry point.
The area at 4180 below can be considered a defensive zone.
As previously noted, the price must firmly establish itself above 4235 before it can challenge the gap level from Monday.
Not only were the 29K jobs created in Sept. below expectations, but as I predicted last month, July and Aug. were revised down by 31K and 29K respectively. My guess is that all three months will ultimately be revised even lower. We have a weak labor market with strong inflation.
#XAUUSD
The market is currently fluctuating sideways near the 4185 level.

Exercise patience and wait for the market reaction following today's #NFP data before trading.
Consider the 4240 level as a zone to add to short positions, followed by the area near 4280.
If gold surges, consider trading with conservative position sizes.
GOLD - The support zone MAY hold. IF not, we're heading to the areas marked 1 or 2. IF that happens, it's likely we don't move past $5k for at least another 6 to 12 months. We forecast this would happen at the start of this year. This illustrates why technical analysis is valuable.

(September 30) Technical Analysis: H4: After an extreme one-sided decline from above 4,600 to around 4,100 (a drop of nearly $500), gold has now formed several candlesticks with long lower shadows at these low levels, indicating strong short-term buying support in the 4,100–4,130 range.
Currently, the price is staging a series of moderate rebounds from these lows, though the upward slope is relatively gentle, exhibiting typical characteristics of an oversold recovery. This represents a period of consolidation following a sharp decline rather than a reversal. Key resistance currently lies at 4,195–4,200. After bottoming out, the price has shown a steady, step-like rebound and has now successfully held above the short-term moving average system. If the European session sees a strong breakout above 4,195 and the closing price remains firmly above 4,195,

Gold is currently trading near 4,192, following a strong rebound from the Wave (5) low zone around 4,105–4,120.
The price is approaching a "scalping" sell zone near 4,205–4,215; consequently, a minor pullback may occur before any further upward movement.
A key level to watch is the buy zone located around 4,155–4,168.
After hitting a low of $4,113.38 today, gold staged a strong technical rebound from oversold levels during the U.S. trading session. It has now risen to $4,172.70, marking an intraday gain of +1.42%. This rebound has temporarily alleviated the earlier “waterfall-like” plunge, but from a broader cyclical perspective, it still constitutes a feeble rebound or a “dead cat bounce” correction following a major decline. Although gold is currently up +1.42%, one must not blindly assume that a bull market has returned. The market is currently in a highly volatile consolidation phase, and the shakeout in the New York market will be extremely intense. If prices continue to test higher and reach the strong resistance zone of $4,180–$4,190 (where today’s rebound high intersects with the key Bollinger Band resistance), gold will certainly continue to fall as long as it fails to hold this level! #XAUUSD #GOLD
