The Prophet said: "May Allah cause his face to shine, the man who hears a Hadith from us and conveys it, for perhaps the one to whom it is conveyed may remember it better than the one who (first) hears it."
Sunan Ibn Majah 232
Teach your kids Allãh, spend a lot to educate them about the Deen more than you do to give them this Dunya. Having a child that says "Oh Allãh have mercy on my parent as they were merciful to me growing up" is everything you may need to enter Jannah after your demise.
How often do we hear about children dragging their parent to court over wealth? How often do we hear about children fighting over the wealth of their parent after their death? Most children forget to even pray for you after you're gone. If you doubt this, take this small test. If you have lost one or both parent, how often do you remember to pray for them? Once in a day? Twice daily or 3 times daily? Or once in a week? Or you only pray for them when you remember? 🥺🥺. These are the most important people in your life. They denied themselves luxury sometimes to give you the best. They never go to sleep when you're sick. They pray for you from when you were in the womb to when they stop living. You are always their priority.
As a son or daughter, if you want to know if you're a PIOUS CHILD (Waladun Salih), then ask yourself how often do you pray for your parent, either dead or alive. If you only do when you remember, you will grow up and become very busy that you may hardly remember. Take it as a duty. Pray for them in every Salat. In your Sujud. Ask Allãh to forgive them if they're late. Ask Allãh to keep them safe and healthy, and accept their acts of worship if they're alive.
Never prioritise anyone over your parent. Everyone met you after your parent shaped you into what you're.
Reflect.
